Here is a kitchen style that we have not seen featured on the blog before, as I recall. It’s a kitchen with cabinets made from two contrasting colors or designs of laminate. In this case: A starburst white laminate is the “field” color — and yo, a Brady Bunch orange is added to the Revco built-in refrigerator-freezer, wall cabinet doors and as a pop of trim. This kitchen is for sale — click on through for more yummy photos…Take notice of the vintage woven window shade and the dishwasher — lovely!
I cropped this shot to show that the orange is laminate — not paint. You gotta love the Fred Flinstone floor, too!
Coppertone kitchen cabinet pulls sitting on starburst escutcheons, or backplate.
(Remember, you can replicate this style — although not exactly, and not in coppertone — with knobs and starburst backplates available from Rejuvenation.
52PostnBeam, our cabinet expert over on our Forum (now defunct) where this kitchen was originally posted, says that the Revco refrigerator-freezer shown is pretty darn rare.
The person who is selling the kitchen also sent me photos of the bathroom. It also is getting gutted, and she is happy to sell all the bathroom hardware as well. Hall Mack fish towel rings! A mermaid shower door (note: Be aware of the potential un-tempered glass issue — consult with a professional.) She even mentions: A toilet set embedded with pennies… And do I spy with my little eye maybe a nice mirror with built-in cosmetic box?
Bathroom with lilac sink, toilet and tub. Love the Hall Mack shell towel hardware.
Here is the craigslist link, all this stuff is on Long Island, NY, no prices “make an offer”: 1960s laminate kitchen cabinets.

:::SWOOOOON::: LOVE the kitchen!! And I so want that mermaid shower door! I don’t have a proper shower stall to put it on, but by god, I want it! 😉

I have that same laminate but in yellow in my laundry room! Shame it’s being gutted. Fantastic!

Be sure to put the laminate on craigslist and our Forum! https://retrorenovation.com/forum — someone will want it!

Hubba Hubba!
I’ve never seen the starburst laminate on anything but a horizontal surface….it’s so purty that way. Yes, the fridge is highly desirable….and ORANGE. Yum!
I like the kitchen, but the baths are really swell, too. It would be hard to rescue too many of those swell tiles, which is a shame. I hope some lucky person is able to rescue most of this-it’s gorgeous!

More common to see that starbust pattern on a bathroom vanity, no?
But yowsa what a combo! Bright orange! Happy stars! Cool copper pulls (remind me of some pots & pans my grandma used to have!)!
Love the shape and size of the Revco doors! And the “frosted” (chicken wire? glass block? Not sure of my terms here) sliding “glass” shelves above the phone (now laptop) cubby are pretty classic, too!
Thanks for sharing! If a reader snatches it up, I’d love to see how the pieces end up looking in a new space!

Oh my, I love this kitchen! I love the floor, the orange laminate countertops, the vintage dishwasher, the awesome Revco refrigerator/freezer arrangement, and the vintage pulls. Gosh, it’s amazing. I really do hope it gets sold to someone who will treasure it.

I love the kitchen, but I LURVE the bathrooms! The tilework alone is worth the price of admission. Hope this suite of wet rooms gets a loving and happy home!

I have the same (starburst) Formica counter tops at my house. I found them under a bad marble paint job, in perfect condition.

Welcome, Yochi — Lucky you!!

I’m in love! Especially with the starburst laminate – I’m a laminataholic.
And the lavender bathroom????!? To die for! That floor! Those stacked tiles with the shaded purple accents? That bathroom is a dream come true for me!

Oh goodness….it’s all so gorgeous! The gutting aspect is making me so sad. I hope, hope, hope that someone buys it all down to the very last bit and lets it all continue living in another home.

This is all so gorgeous! If it were in my home, I’d never get rid of it! I also have to pass this link along to my friend who loves orange.
