Update: Entries (comments) on this story are now closed. Congratulations to winners Renee (vase) and Melissa (apron) — I done spun the random number generator, and their number came up. Prizes awarded! Thanks, everyone, for playing — how much fun to read about everyone’s kitchens! Can you believe it, this Savoy vase, designed by Alvar Aalto, has been in continuous production since 1936 — that’s 75 years. Courtesy of sponsor FinnStyle.com, one reader will win this lovely classic vase this week.
And to double the fun, FinnStyle also is offering a second prize for a second reader: a Marimekko apron of your choice. This Kesatori design is my perky favorite — but I count 8 styles of Marimekko aprons, with a total of 14 possible colors. Continue on for instructions on how to enter to win our one of our two giveaways this week –>
Comment to win an Aalto vase or Marimekko apron
from FinnStyle.com
The rules:

- To enter the contest, make a Comment answering the question, “What are the colors in your kitchen?” You’d want an apron to coordinate, of course!
- I’ll choose the winner by Random Number Generator Tues. morning-ish, Nov. 22.
- You must reply to my email within 7 days, or else I move on to the next in line. I’m not chasing you. Make sure your email is correct.

My kitchen is all Ellen Kennon colors: Upper cabs are Mushroom, lowers are Olive, with a splash of Turquoise. Floors are green slate.

My kitchen is a very happy YELLOW!

My kitchen was just forcibly changed from navy blue (sad color!!) to a minty green with a sandy green and tan quartz countertop, and about to have a minty green and Caribbean blue mosaic tile put in! (merry Xmas to myself!) I love Miami Vice colors. I’m seriously thinking about installing pink neon around the ceiling. (chortle)
Love the apron- and I’m 1/2 Finnish! It’s a perfect fit 😉

My kitchen is small and sad and could use some more color. My little Standard Homes cottage was built in 1940 for a Standard Oil family (El Segundo – home of “The Second” Chevron (formerly Standard) oil refinery in Southern California) and I believe that the kitchen has been re-done more than once with various bargain-basement materials. Anyway, the colors are drab tan, perma-dirt brown and dingy off-white. My bright and beautiful persimmon Eames molded fiberglass side chairs help infuse some color into my galley, but it could really use the help of a cheerful apron or modern vase full of orange Gerbers!

My kitchen is a mellow green, almost avocado, with warm maple cabinets and floors. It’s the perfect foil for splashes of turquoise, rust and orange.

My kitchen? Well the lovely glam/mcm home I just moved into had a most unfortunate kitchen remodel in the 80’s so I’m living in teal & peach, baby! Ack! Good quality, great layout, but teal & peach. Oh my. Did I mention the whitewashed cabinetry? *sigh*

My kitchen colors are mint green and butter yellow. Sounds gross, but actually cute! I’m jonesing for that apron! LOVE this site!

Multicolored with a blue/green focus. Pops of other colors never hurt anyone!

My kitchen is (currently) white with medium brown cabinets on the bottom, and high gloss white cabinets on the top and also our floor to ceiling cabinets are white as well. All courtesy of my home land, Sweden, and their killer store Ikea 🙂 White subway tile for our back splash, white appliances, white countertops, and stainless handles, pulls, and range hood. I did it this way because I LOVe to change colors of my accent pieces. I have a lot of blue, yellow, green, and turquoise in the spring and summer, but in the fall I switch it orange, and in the winter…greens and reds ( of course). I’d sure love to add some additional Finn Style to my kitchen, because I am also half Finnish! Kiitos!

Our color scheme is brown and orange – we have a vintage glass tulip table and chairs that are brown and orange goes really well with it!
