Update: Congrats to winner Danielle! I went thru the entries, pruned duplicates, spun the random.org random number generator, found a winner, and she emailed me back tout suit. Thanks, everyone, for your lovely comments — and come back soon for more contests and retro fun!
So, I have been in the “let’s do some giveaways” mood. And I was thinking, yes, the holidays are not too far away. And, golly, everyone always goes crazy over Georgia Peachez’ (aka Suzy’s) Shiny Brite wreathes. So I asked Suzy to make one up for me (shown above)… I bought it from her… and it’s sitting on her dining room table itching to go to its new home. How to make a wreath using vintage Christmas tree ornaments — Suzy’s instructions
I bet we’ll get a lot of entries for this one — and there can only be one winner. So, the idea behind posting this giveaway right now is to remind you creative types to think ahead … make sure you’re collecting a whole bunch of vintage ornies … and gear up to make one of these yourself maybe. I know that in a lot of thrift stores across America, they start pulling out all the vintage ornaments for sale pretty soon. Or, maybe you’ve been collecting them all summer? That said, I know a lot of us *think* we’ll do a project… but never do… so keep an eye on Suzy’s blog because she keeps making wreaths all fall… she posts them for sale… and they sell out fast!
In the following super-popular story, Suzy showed us how she does it — how to make a wreath out of vintage Christmas tree ornaments:
Thank you, Suzy — you are such an inspiration!

These are so sweet! I’ve been wanting to make one myself, but then I get all terrified that I’ll louse it up and ruin my fave old ornaments. One day … one day.

I love Shiny Brite! I remember hanging the ornaments on the tree when I was just a kid back in the early 1960’s. Good memories. I would love to own this wreath.

Thank you. She makes the most gorgeous wreaths. Someday I may try making one of my own, also. I love the retro look.

Oh I love this wreath! Another new project for this list. But I’d love to win this one. Thanks for this great giveaway and the smile you put on my face every day when I read your latest post!

RR has been a HUGE resource for my other half and I, since buying a 1955 ranch in Atlanta last year. We had expected to just “live with” the original features until we could change them, but your blog showed us how to appreciate them! Now we’ve gone crazy with retro renovating and buying MC furniture!
We’d love this wreath!
