But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:
Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.
Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

Every year I have all of my immediate family text me pictures weekly. Then around christmas we have a special party where I put together a 20 minute slideshow with the best photos of the year. We all laugh and smile and notice how much the grandkids have grown in the past year.

I love making new ornaments each year. Favorite holiday tradition is hand-crafting.

I love Christmas time. it is always such a wonderful time of year. Starting with the decorating, the carols, spending time with loved ones. I always try to go to midnight mass and then play Santa Claus. When we get up in the morning I always plan a nice breakfast and a special dinner for my family.

This may be the best piece of bribery for a new subscriber EVER! Holiday happiness for me is getting out the flour-and-vanilla stained index card for the roll-out sugar cookies, and making a big batch. Pink and mint green frosting, of course!

I love all the lights and outdoor decorations. The tackier the better!

I love opening up the boxes of decorations, looking at each one, thinking about where to hang them, and remembering the memories attached to them.
I also enjoy all the baking and cooking I do each year. In October I start planning the Halloween and Thanksgiving menus. Favorites include sweet potato pie, cream cheese brownies, cornbread stuffing, pecan pie, ambrosia salad, and all the creative meals made from the leftovers.
I start planning the Christmas and New Years Meals mid-November. Besides the all time favorites, Turkey, Prime rib, Yorkshire Pudding, I make something new each year. This year’s new treat will be chocolate covered macadamia nuts.
I also enjoy putting the decorations away, carefully wrapping the delicate decorations and carefully storing them away so I can unwrap them again the next holiday season.

My favorite part of the holidays is giving the perfect gift. Sure… people say the holidays isn’t about the gifts. The people that say that must give some pretty awful gifts.
If you are good at giving gifts than you know the look on someone’s face when you give them a great gift. My wife gushed over the wreath on this post. Now that would be a pretty great gift to give her. She would be pretty stoked to put this on our new mid-century style Crestview door. A smile on her face. Now THAT would be my favorite part of the holidays.

My favorite part of the holidays is how sweet everyone can let themselves be. The cards and the messages of hope and love feel real, even the one from the dentist.

I love getting out all my holiday decorations and helping my mom with her decorating. She still has some Shiny Brite boxes of ornaments. These wreaths are stunning!
