Yes. This one broke too. Long story. New link posted above! All entries so far count.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

I love using our vintage family Christmas decorations, from silver trees, mica villages and metal icicles. These items hold stories of Christmas past dating back to the 1920’s. I retell them every year to my children and now grandchildren.

My favorite parts of the Holidays are putting up my tree and making my Grandfathers krumkakke recipe and sharing it with my brother and sister.

There are so many things I love about Christmas. My “kids” ate now 25-31. I love decorating the tree my youngest son has developmental disabilities & still @ home while on many waiting lists for an apt, my oldest son has moved back to save money. They love all the traditions that we have done. I didn’t have this growing up so my kids were definitely going to have traditions. They talk about each ornament we’ve collected, or the ones I got for them or special ones going back to elementary school for each. They ask me if I’ll make all the cookies, fudge & truffles I’ve always made. My middle son liver nearby & cooks for a living. He now makes the breads & fudge too & when he comes over he talks about his favorite ornaments ‘ decorations too. Best of all my daughter has started all the baking & a lot of the traditions slo g with her husbands now my 3 grandchildren are doing many of the same things & making they’re own traditions. Sometimes I get ready listening to them & miss the Christmas’ they were small. I love that they remember & continue our traditions. That is what I always wanted.

I <3 Shiny Brite ornaments and adore this wreath! I'll definitely have to check out the DIY story as I would like to attempt it. Part of my favorite thing about this time of year is putting my Shiny Brites on my aluminum xmas tree! The hard part is picking out which to put up as I like to keep the look simple and I have quite a collection. Sometimes I'll use the lantern and atomic stars other times just one color scheme. And of course the color wheel spinning throughout the season brings me more joy than I can express in words. I love the idea, Suzy! Thanks for sharing how to make it as I have several odd ornaments that don't usually go up onto the tree and would be lovely as a wreath. Pam, you're a rock star! I've been lurking for years and this giveaway has finally made me speak up. Thanks for the giveaway! Have a shiny bright week everyone. 😀

My favorite part of the holidays is actually spending lots of time in the kitchen…if that can be believed. I love the food and my family usually helps, so it’s fun being together.

Each year we have an old fashioned Christmas party. I scrub my little house until it is merry and bright. I deck the halls with all my vintage mercury ornaments, bubble lights, Santa Claus’, wreaths and all the trimmings.
We make homemade goodies and smoke meats. I get out my grandmothers punch bowl with all its little cups and we share Christmas Wassail and of course a homemade Southern Living multi layer Christmas cake. Starched linens, Christmas carols, my pretty dishes and scented candles all add to the festive atmosphere. Lots of friends come by and bring gifts for the White Reindeer gift exchange.
Mid party I always take a moment to look around and watch my friends, hear their laughter, see their hugs and give thanks and gratitudes to God for all my blessings. Nothing fills me with more joy than the sights, sounds, tastes, smells and feeling of the best people in my life gathering for an old fashioned Christmas party.

I’ve tried to make one of these wreaths, but mine just does not look as nice as Georgia’s.

My favorite part of the holiday is the decorations – not just mine, but everyone’s! I love how people express themselves differently at this time of year – some with very formal décor, others with kid-oriented stuff. Some people go with the latest trend every year, while others stick with their own traditional things. Me? I have some things from my childhood that still find their way into every year’s decorating scheme. And I have a ton of stuff I have collected at garage sales over the years. And it seems like I buy at least one new little item every year. Every tradition started somewhere, after all.

My favorite part of the holiday is remembering scents that were so comforting at Christmas time as a child. Pulling out the vintage box of Shiny Brite Ornaments with the the graphic tree on the cover and ornaments that were truly ornamental would also bring the aroma of years of Christmas past inside the box.

My favorite part of the holiday season is enjoying time off with my kids! We retro decorate our home, bake cookies, sing Christmas carols and spend quality family time together.
