Jodi owns a 1949 ranch style home — and has just finished restoring her stunning vintage maroon and peachy-pink bathroom. She cleaned up and uncovered the gorgeous vintage tiles in her bathroom… found a much needed new toilet that coordinated well with the space… and then pieced together scraps of the bathroom’s original vintage wallpaper to create an accent wall. Such beautiful vintage tile! Such a wonderful bathroom! Is anyone else drooling a little?
Another pink bathroom saved! I live in a 1949 ranch style home. Most of it is a time capsule. I wish I had before photos of this bathroom when it had h***** shag carpet over the original tile floor and wallpaper for every decade.
We had to replace the toilet. But my “pride in joy” in this small renovation is the wallpaper. I found scraps if the original vinyl paper in a storage closet & puzzle pieced it. With just enough to do one wall. Thank you for all your resources and inspiration!
Jodi, give yourself a huge pat on the back for a job well done. Making an accent wall with the scraps of the original wallpaper and painting the remaining walls the same color as the wallpaper’s background was a brilliant decision that ties the whole room together. Also, can I add a YOWZA for those vintage maroon wall tiles — I’m pretty sure I am spying molded raised line-patterns in some of the maroon tiles near the tub, and on the liner tiles, too. Amazing! Congratulations on a job well done and another pink bathroom saved, and thanks so much for sharing your success with all of us.

Beautiful job on this lovely bathroom! Not only does the vintage paper tie all the elements together colorwise (as well as representing the history of the house), but the saturated green of the background, repeated in paint on the other walls, grounds the space and provides a perfect balance. It adds richness, and balances the deep burgundy beautifully. I love your choices!

Regardless of what the rest of the house looked like, I would have bought it just based on this bathroom! You don’t indicate in your backstory what all you had to do to bring it to this spectacular condition, but whatever amount of work you did, it was totally worth it. Absolutely stunning! My grandmother had this exact same color combination to include all the burgundy fixtures (and no shower) in her bathroom and because no one was allowed to use it but her, it was in pristine condition at all times. She was a very glamorous lady this bathroom literally could have been hers. Brings back memories of watching her get ready in her bathroom and admiring her beauty as well as the bathroom’s. Thanks for sharing!

That is a great bathroom with excellent floor and counter tile. The incorporation of the vintage wallpaper really makes it exceptional. Having it on one wall is perfect. Good job.!

That wall paper just makes me smile. I think it is very similar to what my grandmother had in her bedroom and I get happy every time I look at it. Beautiful job.

Beautiful! I zeroed in on the terrific
’40s wallpaper first and how well it works tying it all together. Great job. Are you in SoCal? It looks like it could be a vintage art deco L.A. house..the tile work being more detailed & the original complimenting wallpaper. Also, the new toilet is pretty nifty deco design, too.

I love that the accent wall is (I think) right across from a fairly large mirror. It doubles the effect. Nice!

This is a perfect example of working WITH what you’ve got. While I wouldn’t necessarily choose maroon fixtures, tying it into the wallpaper and towels, makes it stand out less. (apologies to Jodi if you love your maroon fixtures.)
