15 ideas to decorate a pink and white bathroom

For the second story in our series, 99 ideas to decorate a pink bathroom, today let’s look ideas to decorate a pink and white bathroom. And as with all the stories in this series, we invite you to email us your decorating ideas — instructions and tools to make your own mood  boards are at the end this story.  

Today’s design boards start with Mamie pink field tile from B&W… a white Kohler Classic Wellworth toilet… and white bullnose, generally acquired quite affordably and easily from Big Box stores, Daltile or B&W, etc.

And, for the towels featured in all these design boards, I shopped the large variety of colors available at The Company Store.

Pink and white bathroom design ideas inspired by wallpaper

Flirty and feminine: Again, I found loads of vintage wallpaper that coordinated wonderfully with a pink and white bathroom at Hannah’s Treasures. First up, this feminine, small scale pink and white flower patterned wallpaper, paired with a plain white shower curtain and white and pale pink towels. The medium warm grey background keeps the space from feeling too saccharine, while clusters of fluffy flowers float on complementary green stems.

Natural and light: Next, this 1940s Nancy McClelland vintage wallpaper with a fan and flower motif helps to give the room a neutral feel while still keeping things interesting. The zig zag fan pattern adds movement to the space. And once again, pairing this paper with a plain white shower curtain and white and beige towels helps keep the room from feeling too busy.

Aqua swan sanctuary: Our third wallpaper choice — this aqua paper with pink and white swans from Hannah’s Treasures — really punches up the color in the room. Using a predominately aqua paper makes the pink feel neutral by comparison, yet the pairing feels bright and fresh. Finishing the room off with a white shower curtain and coordinating aqua and white towels helps create a cohesive look.

Luscious and leafy: Lastly, this graphic large leafy pink, grey and white patterned paper from Hannah’s Treasures gives our pink and white bathroom a big visual punch in a neutral pallet to keep it from feeling too overwhelming. A plain white shower curtain and grey and white towels repeat the neutrals in the paper design to ensure that the room feels pulled together.

Pink and green dream: Our first reader submission came from Robin, NV, who is a frequent commenter on the blog. Wallpaper is from Hannah’s Treasures, gingham shower curtain is from Delores’ Ruffles, towels are from Overstock.com. Robin said:

Here is my attempt at decorating a pink bathroom.  I’m imagining this was the”girl’s bathroom” and they decided to redecorate it when they became teenagers, sometime around 1970 (originally built about 1954).  The girls wanted something hip and cool.  🙂

Pretty in pink petals: Robin, NV also gave us this 1970s-ish design. Wallpaper from Hannah’s, shower curtain from Walmart, towels from The Company Store. Golly, Pam didn’t think that we could get orange to work with pink, but goin’ with the 70s hippie Victoriana flow, she thinks this pulls it off!

Elegant pink potty: Reader Ruth put together this luxe pink and white bathroom using pink damask embossed wallpaper, a silky pink lake como shower curtain, textured pink and grey damask bath towels, a pink ceramic tumbler and soap pump and topped it all off with a fancy pink mini chandelier — elegant indeed!

Crazy for chrysanthemums: Now, for the first of the paint looks, this chrysanthemum printed shower curtain with light purple, hot pink and maroon flowers on a white background works well with the pink and white tile, and allows us to paint the wall a deep pinkish maroon, to emulate the look of a vintage pink and maroon bathroom with a modern twist. Pink and white towels finish off the look.

Fancy French poodle: For a Parisian theme, this Boudoir Lounge shower curtain from Overstock.com — complete with a poodle — give the room a feminine feel. Pale grey walls and pink and white towels let the shower curtain steal the show.Cuter than a cupcake: If you like polka dots, this pink, white, beige, brown and grey shower curtain is sure to make you smile. With it’s youthful, playful feel, we’ve kept the wall a neutral beige and accented with white and pink towels.

Summer garden: This bright and modern flower shower curtain is as cute as it is colorful. Painting the wall a bright yellowy orange to match the shower curtain gives the room a cheery feel. Topping off the look: coordinating pink and white towels.

Mermaids know their pink: Pam here. In order to get this series launched, Kate immersed herself in wallpaper and shower curtain options. But now, I am also trying to think of *quirky* places to go look, starting with more shower curtains. For whimsy / novelty designs, don’t forget to go look at PBKids and PBTeen. Here’s a mermaid shower curtain and cute as all get out coordinating bathroom towels at PB Kids. While I don’t think this design board is truly successful — the pinks are too clashy — I did want to feature it (1) to call out the PB youth sites and (2) to show how pretty a light yellow paint can look in a pink bathroom. And when choosing yellow paints: Remember to consider the LRV and intensity issues!

Cheap and cheerful kids bathroom: Reader Elisabeth pulled this cheap and cheerful kid’s bathroom all from Ikea, including a multi-color striped shower curtain, turquoise and white bath towels, matching multi-colored hand towels and an aqua wall mirror, all set on a sky blue wall color.

Minty: Reader Elisabeth sent in a second Ikea mood board that is styled after her own bathroom, which sports this Ingeborg white and aqua shower curtain and matching (now discontinued towels). Elisabeth used white and aqua bath towels in her mood board along with a pale aqua wall color.

Rustic roses: Here’s a sweet pink and white bathroom with a lovely rose print shower curtain from Garnet Hill. A serene aqua wall color and pale aqua and terra cotta towels repeat the colors in the shower curtain and give a cohesive look to the room.
