Contest now completed: Congratulations to Mary, winner of the Lava Lamp! Thanks, everyone, for playing!

It was fun to write about the 50 year history of Lava Lamps (and see those 20+ vintage designs). Now to follow up: A giveaway courtesy of Lava Lite LLC. One lucky winner will receive a 16.3″ special 50th Anniversary edition of the Lava Lamp — in an cool yellow, purple and gold color combination.

How to enter to win a 50th Anniversary 16.3″ Lava Lamp:

  1. To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends.)
  2. To enter, keep scrolling to the Comment field below and tell us where you would use your Lava Lamp. Or a Lava Lamp memory. Or whatever, we’re easy.
  3. One entry per person. Lower 48 U.S. delivery addresses only.
  4. Entries close on Thursday, Oct. 29, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, we will close the Comments field at that time.
  5. Prize: One winner will receive one 16.3″ 50th Anniversary yellow wax/purple liquid/gold cap & base Lava Lamp sent directly from Lava Lite LLC.
  6. Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. We will email the winner. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If we do not hear from you, we will choose the next person who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. We will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
  7. Terms of use apply.

Many thanks, Lava Lite LLC!

Note: Lava Lite LLC did not pay us to host this giveaway —
we do giveaways to delight readers and to grow our newsletter list.

Congratulations to Vanessa, winner of our last giveaway — the vintage NOS Hall-Mack Conceal-A-Roll.

I’ve always been mesmerized by them, but not so much to buy one. I’d need to find a place that needs some groove going on to display it.

I had a pink one that I had bought at a garage sale about 12 years ago. It got broke during a move. I would set this new one on my fireplace,so I can see both at same time

a truly groovy chick needs a lava lamp on her bedside table, for anti-hypertensive properties. Yeah, that’s it…

I never had a Lava Lamp despite years of asking my mom. I know my 10-year old would love it.

I love Lava lamps! I purchased a silver lamp with orange liquid inside for my desk at work, and it almost didn’t make it to work. Every single visitor to my desk makes a comment about how they love the mesmerizing lamp. I would *love* another one for home!

I purchased my first lava lamp at a Spencer’s in the 90s. Been collecting them ever since.

I always wanted a Lava Lamp, but my parents thought they were too expensive. I would put this in my living room and plug it in every night, because you’re never too old to have a happy childhood. 🙂
