UPDATE: Contest closed. We spinned (spun?) the random and have a winner: Congrats to Lisa, whose number came up and who promptly claimed our prize. Come back every other Friday for our next giveaway!
Howdy, hudee — it’s our first giveaway of the new year. Yesterday we wrote about how gobsmacked Pam was, when she saw the Ikea PS 2014 pendant lamp for the first time in person. Today — you can enter to win one of these lights, provided by Ikea.
How to enter to win an Ikea PS 2014 pendant light:
- To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends, or continue on for the stories and because our goal is to schedule a giveaway every two weeks.)
- To enter, use the Comment field on this post below and tell us where you might hang this light. Or whatever, we’re easy.
- One entry per person. U.S. lower 48 states only.
- Entries close on Friday, Jan. 22, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, we will close the Comments field at that time.
- Prize: There will be one winner. The winner will receive the light in the color of their choice directly from Ikea.
- Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. We will email each person. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If we do not hear from them, we will choose the next person who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. We will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
- Terms of use apply.
Many thanks to Ikea for providing the light for this giveaway!
And congrats to Richard, winners of our last giveaway, a vintage Christmas ornament wreath from Georgia Peachez.
Disclosure: We were not paid to host this giveaway —

Oh wow, been oohing & aahing over this fireball for a while. The living room is headed to Tiki Town when the kitchen’s done and even though the outer style doesn’t really match, that fireball glow of the copper one has had me entertaining thoughts of sneaking that in there. It’s got a tiki glow, doesn’t it? Thanks Mucho Pam & Kate!

I’d hang it over my smoky grey lucite Chromocraft dining table set.

We would hang this in the new office we just finished.

This would look lovely over our breakfast table!

This would be sooo much nicer in my dining room than the brass and ceramic chandelier we currently have…
Alicia Damron says
I would hang this in my seventies inspired bonus room!

Where might I hang this beautiful lamp you ask?
Why, in the faux hollywood regency living room of my 1954 mid-century modest Florida bungalow, of course! Where it could cast it’s romantic glow on my assorted mid-century treasures and bring a smile to all who encounter it!
This blog is the bestest!

We are closing on a 1978 split level with no modern updates -yay! at the end of the month. I’d put it in our entryway with the yellow/brown textured linoleum floor leading into the brand new/old look shag carpeting. I think it would look fabulous.☺️

The PS 2014 pendant would welcome prospective adopters to our dog rescue facility’s entry.

I’d probably hang it in my Death Star room. Suitable, no?
