UPDATE: Contest closed. We spinned (spun?) the random and have a winner: Congrats to Lisa, whose number came up and who promptly claimed our prize. Come back every other Friday for our next giveaway!
Howdy, hudee — it’s our first giveaway of the new year. Yesterday we wrote about how gobsmacked Pam was, when she saw the Ikea PS 2014 pendant lamp for the first time in person. Today — you can enter to win one of these lights, provided by Ikea.
How to enter to win an Ikea PS 2014 pendant light:
- To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends, or continue on for the stories and because our goal is to schedule a giveaway every two weeks.)
- To enter, use the Comment field on this post below and tell us where you might hang this light. Or whatever, we’re easy.
- One entry per person. U.S. lower 48 states only.
- Entries close on Friday, Jan. 22, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, we will close the Comments field at that time.
- Prize: There will be one winner. The winner will receive the light in the color of their choice directly from Ikea.
- Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. We will email each person. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If we do not hear from them, we will choose the next person who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. We will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
- Terms of use apply.
Many thanks to Ikea for providing the light for this giveaway!
And congrats to Richard, winners of our last giveaway, a vintage Christmas ornament wreath from Georgia Peachez.

I’ve seen this light in person. It’s beautiful and orange is the way to go!

Fantastic light! It would be a “modern” touch to my “formal” dining room of pur 1937 home. Thank you for the opportunity to thrown hat into the ring!

This would look great in my son’s room or my parent’s kitchen. My folks still have their chrome base kitchen table and high bucket style swivel chairs from when they were married in 1963! Love it!

Oh this lovely would hang above the kitchen table!

This amazing pendant would either hang in our front entrance way or the stairwell leading to our basement which has a high ceiling. I just LOVE the look of this pendant lamp and the shadows it would cast at night. I think for that reason alone I might even just put it in our dining room so I could enjoy it more often. It is such a versatile, retro, yet modern pendant lamp.

My daughter first turned me on to IKEA when she rented a small 1920s apartment in Glendale, Cali. Upon moving in we had a bit of a dilemma, how are we going to furnish this space so it didn’t look like a dorm room? After a bit of research and bean bag chair living she discovered there was an IKEA less than a mile from her apartment. When we walked in we should have taken a selfie at the shock on our faces. It was like we’d come home to stylish, portable, well made, and inexpensive deco. Not only were we within her budget but I was able to pick up an oh so cool mid/mod chandelier for my master (not the same one). We were able to get all our purchases up a steep staircase and crazy gated elevator to the 8th floor no sweat. End of story when she moved and had a fire sale (that’s what they called it in her building) she sold every piece of that deco.
