Hardware store New Old Stock — “100s of sinks, 100s of light fixtures” — !

pam kueber - Updated: March 20, 2023

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

Ebay-NOS-collage3Words we love to read in ebay listings:

“My in-laws own of those neat old hardware stores, and this was recently discovered in their warehouse where it’s been stored for decades.”

midcentury modern outdoor lightprogress-outdoor-lightYes, ebay seller nomoredrama4me continues to uncover and list for sale lots of NEW OLD STOCK items. A cover for an American Brand faucet! Rare tile-in sinks in several colors. Pendant lighting. AND MORE.

Indeed, I followed up with the seller, and she said:

Thank you! I have literally an entire warehouse of new old stock items. It’s all very fun to look through. 100’s of sinks and 100’s of light fixtures. My father-in-law used to buy out old hardware stores in the 60’s and put everything he bought in a warehouse thinking he would go through it all someday and never did. He has given me free reign in selling it off. If there is anything in particular your followers like let me know and I will get it listed so you can have pics.

To get ’em:

  • Lots of NOS from an old hardware store (affiliate link)

Precautionary Pam reminds:

When buying vintage — including New Old Stock — with the intention of installing it, be sure to research whether the item is up to current building code and safety standards. For example: Vintage lighting, even if new old stock, should have its wiring checked — and there may be other issues — get with a pro. Vintage plumbing pipes may not be up to current standards for, for example, lead. Painted or glazed finishes also may contain lead, etc. Get with your own properly licensed professionals to help you assess what you have so that you can make informed decisions. See our Be Safe/Renovate Safe page for more info.

I don’t know why that is happening. Is anyone else getting the issue?

Seems to be an Apple incompatibility issues — Try this new link — when you get there, look for the Search box that says “SEARCH WITHIN STORE” and type in New Old Stock: Mac and Iphone and IPad users try this link instead (affiliate link)

I will be adding many more light fixtures, including copper ones, this week. Will look for your sink parts as well.
You all are great. So glad our paths have crossed

Hi folks, this is nomoredrama4me. I want to thank Pam for featuring my listings. The comments posted here made my day! I am happy to look around the warehouse for specific items for you. What a great blog this is.

I wish someone like this would pop up with 1930s stuff. I fear I’ll be looking for a terra-cotta (not sure the exact color name) bathroom sink to top off the stand that I found in my backyard, forever… sigh.

It’s really great for her father-in-law to let her sell this stuff off and sell it though. I know mid-century home owners must be thrilled 🙂

Me, too! This stuff is just a little too new for me. I’ll spend more time than I should looking at it, though!

Just bought a retro can/beer bottle opener and some refrigerator magnets from “No More Drama,” a lovely name! I remember the days when you could buy everything for your house at the hardware store, from pot holders to the kitchen sink! Will have DH check on the electrical parts being offered. Thanks for featuring this sale. I wish the seller much fun and profit from emptying her warehouse.

I bought one of the Lightolier fixtures for my house, which was built in 1965, the same date as the fixture. Thanks for the story, because I have seen this fixture in vintage pictures, but haven’t been able to find one.

What a lovely find! That soap dish would have been perfect for my bathroom. I will definitely check out this eBay seller! Happy Birthday, Pam.
