Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

If you weren’t able to come to my presentation in Las Vegas yesterday, well, here’s a short peek into my life (including Astro!) that ran last week on the popular Boston TV show, Chronicle. You also get to see me follow the crew’s directions to be a goofball. Which I’m always up for. Gotta promote the cause. Happy Monday!

What a wonderful video! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

During the close-up of you working at your computer, I immediately noticed your ring! My husband and I have matching wedding bands, and I think they are a very close, if not exact, match to your ring. We live in Texas, and bought the rings from a small and privately owned jeweler back in the mid-70’s. At the time of purchase, we believed that they were created by the owner, but we might have been mistaken. Yet, we’ve never seen another similar ring in all these years! Obviously, we love our rings!!!

It was a fun detail to see—of course, I absolutely love your kitchen cabinets, as I knew I would!

It took two days, but I finally got to download the video and watch it. What a great interview! I especially loved seeing parts of your house we haven’t seen before and meeting Astro. (Scooby-Doo rould rall rim “Rastro,” right?) I’m glad he landed at your house when he retired from “The Jetsons.”

I lived in the Boston area for years and I know Chronicle..how exciting!! It was a great piece. Congratulations!! Meanwhile, I had no idea..though it makes sense…that you are are a fellow Stangl-hound. Love love love my Stangl and use it every single day. There’s so much to appreciate about it. Have you featured yours and I missed it?

Again, well done. I’ll bet your ‘unique visitor’ count has exploded!

Hi Beth, alas, the wallpaper is discontinued. It was from the Waverly Kitchen Kitsch collection, widely available, inexpensively, until about 2005 — which is just before the boom started! They need to bring it back!

Pam, your house shows off so lovely. I like the built-ins. Little Astro was so well behaved for his close up with his mommy. Thanks for sharing the video.

What a great report! And Pam, I am dying – dying! – of envy for your turquoise steel kitchen cabinets. After reading so many wonderful posts here at Retro Renovation, it’s so much fun to see you showing off your own house. It is lovely.

Thanks, Katherine! Those cabinets were the score of a lifetime, to be sure!

    Pam this is Faboo!!!!

I hope you will consider giving us a home tour. I loved seeing a bit more of your home and how you’ve all blended it to look both retro and modern. Nothing looks or feels dated at all, just pure lovely!

    Congratulations on the news story!

Thank you, Maria! Everything is vintage — midcentury — but some of it is traditional rather than modern.

Had a great time listening to you speak here in Vegas for the Vintage Home Tour. It was amazing getting to see the inside of all the houses I grew up around!

You were adorable, Pam, and so is your house! I love the Florida wallpaper in your bathroom–can I ask where you got it? I think it might be a great addition to my pink bathroom.

Alas, now discontinued. It was part of the Waverly Kitchen Kitsch collection — you should email them and ask them to bring it back! I also used a pattern from the collection in my blue bathroom!
