Yup, today is the 10th birthday of the blog. My first story was, predictably, about a toilet. Over the next few days and weeks, I’ll be doing some looks back. But for today, well, I’m gonna think about everything. And hey, I’ll welcome some well wishes!

Pam and Katie-doodles too! Ten years of hard work researching and sharing, from yard sale finds for ornament wreaths to designing retro countertops. You deserve everything good thing that comes to you.
What brought me to your site years ago was a pink bathroom I hated. And you changed my world.
You inspire us to preserve what was well-made and shirk the trends. You teach us how to love our homes and add touches here and there to make them our own. What a lovely gift.
And for each reader who posts a comment there are ten who are just as devoted wishing you a VERY HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY!
Thank you Thank you Thank you

Pam, I have learned so much from you. I tell everyone about your blog because I discuss house renovation. quite often. I am in a 1959 ranch now, trying to renovate with respect for the era. Your blog is inspiring so I hope you continue on!

Congratulations on being an excellent resource and thank you for giving the rest of us a space to share our own stories. I first found the site when researching bathroom sinks appropriate to my 1931 traditional. Now I’m in a 1956 custom ranch so there is even more here for me to love! Great job ladies!

Pam, your work has given me a much needed sense of community. I live in a vintage two bedroom coop apartment with wonderful original details and Retro Renovation has helped me out so many times as I have settled in and made it my own. I live in Southern California, which has tons of opportunity for interacting with my fellow vintage lovers, but my job as a teacher keeps me crazy busy and I don’t get out to events as much as I would like. Retro Renovation helps me remember that I am not the only one who is “crazy, but in a good way”!

Pam, thank you so much for your continued dedication to this important information source / entertainment outlet for so many of us. I am a more recent mid century fan and was pointed to your blog a couple of years ago. Since then, the world has changed a lot and this blog is ALWAYS a page to which I can turn and be happily rewarded. It’s a constant companion.

I have enjoyed your blog for several years. I own a real estate company in Redlands Califirnia and share your blog with my mid century/ post modernist clients and clients who just like to basque in that era. Recent clients just found matching home for a 50’s green bathroom shower pan reno. All the best for the next decade!

I had a vision of a Retro Renovation window sticker on my local vintage store. I think what you’re doing is so important for raising appreciation of an iconic era of America’s history. It should be promoted!
