Kate - November 28, 2017, Updated: October 29, 2020

retro putz house christmasHowdy Hudee — it’s me, Katiedoodle! I’m back for a brief visit to share a new free downloadable Retro Putz House Pattern!  Seeing Erika’s collection inspired me to dust off my glue gun and bust out the glitter. Surprise — and Happy Holidays!

retro putz house christmasThis pattern design is based on a house in my neighborhood that I have always admired.

retro putz house christmasIt looks like the owners of this little home are on the nice list this year!

retro putz house christmasMy favorite part of the pattern — the built-in planter that wraps around the corner of the building. Look, it’s full of fresh snow!

I was wondering if people like us see houses and the first thing they think is “PUTZ HOUSE!” Or vicey-versy…
Isn’t Leo a shepherd? Or does he spoil “his” little girl too?

Leo is a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. He and Cora are getting along well!

I just saw ornaments that looked as if they were made from these MCM putz house patterns! (smaller versions anyway) One of those very ‘foofoo’ high end eclectic gift shops had them, and sets of vintage knee-hugging elf ornaments too! I keep meaning to make some, project #3,281… sigh.

Yay, another Kate house! So cute! Little curious fingers also cute. I distinctly remember as a kiddo poking out all the cellophane windows of our putz houses on display..ack, why did I do that?

Every kid who had the good fortune to experience putz houses early in life punched out windows! I know I did, even though it was more from curiosity than intention on destruction. Our dear family friend Gladys would have never scolded me for anything, even if she knew I poked out a window.

    Hi Katie!
I’m always tuned-in when Katie busts out the glue gun.
These are charming! I’m standing in line to download these patterns.
    Thanks so much!

p.s. Wait until your daughter starts climbing. That’s why they invented shelves. I called this, “the time-line shifting.” It starts out at floor level, then graduates to the tables and so on…!
    Happy Holidays Katie and family!!
