It’s giveaway time — and this time, there will be three winners! Once I started talking with the owner of Bauer Pottery about the mid mod mad Brayton Laguna cats the company is now making from original 1960s molds, it seemed like a no-brainer that a giveaway would follow. And indeed, Bauer Pottery is generously offering to send one of these sleek sculptures to three winners. Choose your color!
How to enter to win:
- To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends, or continue on for the stories and other, occasional giveaways.)
- To enter, use the Comment field below and tell us something about these cool cats — which color would you choose, why do you like them… or tell us whatever, this is all for fun.
- You can enter once per day now through Monday, June 3, 6 p.m., when entries close. (You only need to subscribe to the newsletter once, though!)
- U.S. and Canada only.
- Prize: There will be three winners. Each winner will receive one cat, in one of the five stock colors of their choice, directly from Bauer Pottery.
- Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. I will check if the ‘winner’ is a newsletter subscriber. I will email the winner. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If I do not hear from them, I will choose the next person after who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. I will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.

These iconic cats take me back to the decor of my grandmother’s home which is how I have decorated mine! I have a mid-century home and have worked painstakingly to revert it to it’s original glory. I would choose orange or white because it would match my living room.

I love cats, have cats, collect gnomes and cat statues. Last year we cleaned out my grandparents home and I inherited two hand painted ceramic white cats. The black one from this collection would complete my cat statue collection.

I love these graceful cats! All the colors are terrific too. How fun that you get to share this with your readers. We have a 1956 ranch house and have been replacing a lot of remuddled brown and beige with more color, adding green, blue and orange accents – so it would probably be a choice between the persimmon and teal.

I saw this cat in my Facebook feed today and immediately knew it would be perfect for my daughter-in-law. In turquoise. She and my son are the owners of 2 brilliant black cats–Damian and Azrael–and my daughter-in-law and I share a passion for design from the 40s, 50s and 60s!!! Living in southeastern Idaho we are fortunate enough to be surrounded by all these styles 🙂

I like both the black and green ones. Black reminds me of my two black cats and green is a favorite color of mine. I have a late 1950s atomic-styled apartment and one of these would look lovely in it.

Would love a black cat! These remind me of the ceramic cats my Aunt made in the late 60’s when the little diy ceramic studios were becoming popular.
