Final report, Saturday, June 8: Congratulations to Kristin, Jenny, and Margie — our three winners, all confirmed! Thanks, everyone, for playing! ENTRIES NOW CLOSED.
It’s giveaway time — and this time, there will be three winners! Once I started talking with the owner of Bauer Pottery about the mid mod mad Brayton Laguna cats the company is now making from original 1960s molds, it seemed like a no-brainer that a giveaway would follow. And indeed, Bauer Pottery is generously offering to send one of these sleek sculptures to three winners. Choose your color!

How to enter to win:
- To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends, or continue on for the stories and other, occasional giveaways.)
- To enter, use the Comment field below and tell us something about these cool cats — which color would you choose, why do you like them… or tell us whatever, this is all for fun.
- You can enter once per day now through Monday, June 3, 6 p.m., when entries close. (You only need to subscribe to the newsletter once, though!)
- U.S. and Canada only.
- Prize: There will be three winners. Each winner will receive one cat, in one of the five stock colors of their choice, directly from Bauer Pottery.
- Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. I will check if the ‘winner’ is a newsletter subscriber. I will email the winner. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If I do not hear from them, I will choose the next person after who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. I will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
- Terms of use apply.
Thank you so much, Bauer Pottery (see all the cool cats and their full product line here)!

One of these cats would look great in my camper next to my 1963 linen calendar with 3 similar cats on it! Please?
Susan says
It would be difficult for me to choose my favorite color, but, if I had to pick, I would go with black or blue.
Kimberly Taylor says
Hard to decide, turquoise or orange!

Oh my stars they are so cute!!! I have a black Sphynx cat so would choose the black one. Frankly I’d be happy with any color though!!!

I love retro vintage 1950’s items and the design of the era. I would absolutely love the orange cat as I have five kitties of my own.
Sue says
Take all the colors under the sun
Only one color I think much fun
And that’s orange
Orange I said
The silly old color who lives next to red
The one that is orangely out of its head
That giggles and titters and rolls in the aisle
No matter what happens, guffaws all the while
Old orange
As flip as a Heiseman coin
Or a stone skipping waterly skips
As free as a spree
With a bird’s supposed to be
If a spree with a bird could be free
Why not?
An orangey bird with orangey wings
With orangey songs that it orangey sings

These cats would be purrrfect in my home! An orange one next to my orange kitties.

So lovely. They remind me of my grandmother and the cat figurines she had. The black is striking, but the beige reminds me of her love for Siamese cats. How wonderful it is that so many lovely old things are coming back into their own again…and how amazing that the old molds weren’t destroyed ages ago. So many things these days are seen as disposable, so thank goodness there are still people out there who believe things are worth preserving.

An orange cat would look fantastic perched on one of my mid-century Ethan Allen bookcases!
