Is Amy Sherman-Palladino a secret lurker on this site? Just started watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon and have spotted a sofa very similar to yours in her apartment and the Betty Wilsonart laminate in another scene.
Pam Kueber says
I spotted those too! And mention of Food-A-Rama fridge. Yes, I think the set designers used us for research!

They probably used your list of 27 places to buy restored vintage stoves to get the Western Holly in the kitchen of her parents’ apartment. https://www.antiquestoveheaven.com/western-holly
Too bad they didn’t find a couple of good sets of steel cabinets :). Mrs. Maisel loves kitchens, so maybe next season.
Pam Kueber says
Yes, although I tend to believe that Western Hollys were not common in NYC.

I am looking for a countertop laminate “Twist n Yellow” by panolam. I was told that your company may have some because it is supplied with retro metal countertop edging, and your company either sells the edging or knows where to get it. Thanks.

Hello! I have a question regarding old linoleum rugs. I have two in my 1950 house in the attic. I don’t want to leave them on the floor because I want to preserve them. Is there a way to put a protective coating of something on them without damaging them? If so, I’m thinking backsplash? Any help would be appreciated.
Pam Kueber says
I do not know the answer to this. Be aware that these old rugs, like many materials and products in our old houses, may contain hazards — consult with a professional to assess what you are dealing with so that you can make informed decisions. Hi, I am looking for a Beauty Queen Lavanette sink in green because ours is rusting. The cabinet is in good shape but I need the sink itself. Do you have any idea where I would find this? Thank you, John

I need to buy 15 square feet of retro pink mosaic floor tile. Can I purchase through you? I see some samples are your site that would work. Please let me know if you can accommodate me.
Pam Kueber says
No, I don’t sell anything here. You need to contact the companies profiled / mentioned in the stories. There are usually hotlinks to their sites in the stories – hotlinks are bright bold blue — click them.

My home was built in 1920. After searching and searching for what size wall tile was used during the mid 20s -early 30s all I find is essentially contradictory info. I’m wanting color tile but the size has me stymied. Subway, 4×4 or 6×6? From looking at ads, I know 6×6 or 4×4 is appropriate but I can’t tell which size it is from an old illustration! Help!
Pam Kueber says
I am not an expert, but would think 4×4 is the most common size. See all our time capsule houses, we have a few from that early…

I am touching-up my deceased parent’s home for sale. It was built in the mid-50’s and the bathroom has pepto bismal pink tile on all the walls (teamed with a white tub and toilet). Removing the wall tile is not worth the cost.
However, the flooring definitely needs to be replaced … so I’m wondering what possibilities exist for flooring that coordinates or tames without adding even more pink?
The rest of the house is mid-centruy modern open open space layout – not ‘Betty Boop or poodle skirts’.
Thank you so much!!!

To whom this may concern. I have a vintage historic house in the Detroit Michigan area however in my kitchen I have a very light color green almost like a celery color. I was wondering where can I buy old vintage tile that dates back within the fifties or sixties? Thank you very much Evelyn.
