Denise and I have been painting fools all week long, and the foolishness is scheduled to continue through about 3 p.m. Friday, when we break for the long weekend. We are heading toward the finish line in our epic task to faux bois paint all the dados, windows, beams, cabinets and trim in my living room and dining room.
Ya can’t see it through this chaos, The Mahalo Lounge is shaping up to look pretty darned awesome. There’s still more — ceiling treatment, lotsa lighting, the sectional, wall and other decor — to come, though, before the first official party. Meanwhile, though, the painting is almost done. Yippee! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thanks, Pam, for sharing your journey with us! Very exciting to see your vision and attention to detail come together in this very cool room!

I’m very excited to see the finished room! Can’t wait, but I suspect Pam can’t wait either!! ????

I like the beams crossing the ceiling. I have a similar great room (in my 1949 house)…a lot of windows, and a hideous popcorn false ceiling. If we ever redo the ceiling, faux beams will part of it.

Do you know when we’ll hear who won the “dentil molding faux bois” count? Maybe I missed it? ????

As promised, it was posted in the story after the winner was chosen — https://retrorenovation.com/2017/02/28/faux-bois-painting-dentil-molding/
