Vintage Frigidaire Flair – the all time favorite for a 60s kitchen?

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

vintage-pink-frigidaire-flair-ad-2.jpgFlickr friend Two-Bad provides these images of his (her?) Frigidaire Flair range, along with a vintage ad. Readers say that Samantha Stevens had one in Bewitched. While this model had many imitators – for some reason, the Frigidaire Flair seems to be everyone’s favorite. And look at how great the Danish Modern orange looks with the pink… and the gold… and are those popovers in the oven on the left? Many thanks, Two-Bad!

My Aunt has one, but 3 of the stove-top burners will not heat. Anyone know where I can get parts for this?

Hi Steve, we don’t really do that here. One company that I think will do valuations is antiqueappliances.com, for a fee. Good luck.

CIndyE, I’ve started getting some folks to suggest reco’s — but I’m not approving these comments. My advice for people with these old stoves is to do their own homework. For example, I have been told there may be asbestos in the insulation. Please, all readers do their own homework, consult with professionals, etc.

Awesome site!! I just got a Frigidaire Flair double oven with the base cabinet off craigslist.. FREEEEEE!!!
The thing is it needs a good cleaning and the pullout drawer for the burners is so sticky as if coated with grease..It doesn’t glide easily..
Does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning this thing?
I want to make sure I don’t use anything that might damage the finish..

Great site! Ive been snooping around here for about a week trying to get ideas on tranforming our 2000’s house into something a little older looking.

Ive found one of these stoves locally as well, and it surely seems like a great retro piece, but it looks like the cabinet is a separate piece? The pics Ive seen of the one for sale, dont appear to have the base cabinet. If this cabinet isnt there, are these available? If not, any other ideas for installing the stove?

I just found a single oven Flair for $200 and I’m picking it up tomorrow.

I’ve been wanting one of these stoves for so long, but now that I’m going to own one I’m really nervous about it. I think I’ve been so pampered with my current stove that I’m afraid the Flair won’t do everything I want. I’m being silly, I know. I’m not this worried about my Kelvinator fridge.

Wow, just this morning I read an ad in our newspaper “1950’s Frigidaire Flair” $700, 308-284-1092. I knew I read about this stove somewhere lately, and it was here! So, if anyone really wants one and wants to travel to western Nebraska, that’s where this one is!

I’m buying a house and it has the single flair in it. I’m torn between keeping it or updating with a newer range. It seemed to still work like new when we were going through with the home inspection.

Is there a market for these types of old ranges? I recently showed clients a home built in 1912 that had one of these. It was a single width type. I had no idea what it was, but just pushed the button that said “Release” and out slid the electric burners, then slid the door up on the oven. So cool!

I’m thinking about trying to buy this one. What are they worth?
