Secret source for discontinued Kohler kitchen and bathroom sinks, tubs, faucets and more

pam kueber - Updated: August 17, 2021

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

vintage kohler sinkThanks to reader Maire on Save The Pink Bathrooms, who alerted us to this site — Faucets & Fixtures Overstock — as a good potential place to vintage vintage Kohler kitchen and bathroom sinks, faucets, color toilet seats, and more.

Readers note:
We do not sell these here on this site.

You need to contact Faucets & Fixtures directly.

While many of these pieces may not be old enough to be called “vintage” yet, there are many interesting designs and colors. Lots of porcelain on cast iron, my favorite. The prices look pretty good. And, well, anything rejected by the mass market… interests me!  Some of my favorites: The “Julienne” kitchen sink above is very tantalizing, given its mini drainboards…

kohler ladies vanity bathroom sinkAbove: You can still get the famed Lady Vanity bathroom sink in lots of colors — although not in white. This sink, recently discontinued by Kohler, is one of my all-time favorites.

kohler men's lavatory bathroom sinkAbove: The famed Man Lav bathroom sink, too. Again, not white — but you can get Heron Blue and many other colors and off-whites.

I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but what’s the sprayer on the side for?

I absolutely ADORE the lady vanity. I thought about it for my very current bathroom re-do. Good thing it’s too big or I’d be super mad that it doesn’t come in white!

    Maybe for my washroom?

People did like to wash their hair in the sink, but it was usually the kitchen sink, I thought.

Totally off topic but I thought I’d mention that tickets for Palm Springs Modernism Week (the “mini” Fall event) are on sale now. The Fall event is October 11-14. Tickets for the big February event go on sale October 1.

Yessssssss! On my search for a vintage Kohler toilet, I ended up with a matching sink. Both still new in box, never used. Problem is, my bathroom has double sinks. Nothing is wrong with the current countertop with molded acrylic sinks but the spare Kohler is still in storage with the hopes of finding its mate one day. Woohoo!

Wow! What a great resource. I wonder what the Kohler Desert Bloom color looks like in real life. Great prices on the site too.

Pam, I love your comment “And, well, anything rejected by the mass market… interests me!” Amen to that! My husband and I want to make t-shirts that say “I’m not your target market.”

Kate and I were just talking about making up some tee shirts to sell. May I use your saying? Love it!

The perfect sentiment! I’ll take two adult size large and three kiddie sizes, please.

I feel the same way. I am always skeptical when the masses like it.

I have seen the desert bloom color in person. It is a lovely, understated, demure flesh colored pink. Subtle and elegant. It is NOT your rootin’, tootin’, pinky pink of the G.E. appliances circa 1950’s………….

If you are looking for a “barely there” hint of sandy pink, this is your color. If you, like me, are looking for the true 50’s Mamie pink kitchen color, keep looking. I am deep in the process of remodeling my stainless steel jungle of a kitchen into a warm and inviting “milk and cookies after school” haven. Yes, I love Mamie pink, and I have recently purchased the entire 1958 G.E. suite of oven, cooktop and vent. ( Will have frig and dishwasher painted same color by friendly automotive paint shop). But, I can’t find a PINK kitchen sink. Also, my kitchen is not undergoing a pink facelift only because I love retro pink. Who doesn’t love retro Mamie pink?
I am a 50’s girl who has survived a 21st century Breast Cancer, hence the focus on pink! Just got my 5-year “clean bill of health” for remission of breast cancer!!! This is better the winning the Superbowl!!!! And no, I’m not going to Disneyland to celebrate, although I do love Mickey,(I’m a 50’s girl). I’m putting in a 50’s Mamie pink kitchen with hints of 50’s chartreuse green. Pink for breast cancer and green because green IS the color of LIFE! Long live 50’s pink and green! You can survive!
Thank you Miss Pam K. for your wonderful website and your continuing focus on a beautiful moment in American history. You are a true historian:)
P.S. Anybody know where I can find a 50’s pink kitchen sink?? I EARNED IT, I BEAT BREAST CANCER!!!! Pamela Rittenhouse

Wow, that Julienne sink is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!

Also, I’m pretty sure my kitchen sink is the Hartland sink shown on their site.

    Sarah,
My wife’s parents had this same sink in “harvest gold” in the house they built in 1969. They thought it would be great for washing hair or giving baby baths. They had the same faucet in chrome with different color handle inserts. The spray feature made it easy to rinse the sink.
If I didn’t already have a sink in my laundry room it would be great for spot treating clothes and washing and refilling the dog bowls.

The lady vanity sink as pictured above would be great for giving a newborn baby a bath. It reminds me of the sinks you sometimes see in maternity wards…

I had the exact same thought when I saw it!! Would love to have one!

The Lady sink was intended for washing infants, so it is no coincidence that it resembles the ones used in hospital maternity wards. My sister and her husband were Kolher dealers.

Any chance that your in laws might know where I can get the faucets that go with the Lady Lav sink? Mom and I both still have one and she is 92 and needs new faucets (worded incorrectly L O L)
