My dad ran out and bought one of the very first Lava Lamps and I remember the neighbors coming in to see it. I still have that lamp but the blobs no longer float. This would be a lovely replacement.

A lava light would look fantastic in my Brasilia themed dining room and would really complement the Sputnik chandelier I’m putting up this weekend!

I love lava lamps and have owned a couple over the years. I would put this one in our TV room where it would be oh, so groovy!

Unfortunately I’m too young to remember the “original” lava lamps, but I love seventies homes and design. if I had this, I would proudly display it on my bedroom dresser, to wow my friends and family that pass through. I’m a sucker for vintage lighting!

If I win this Lava Lamp, I will use it in my den. I will also take possession of the swag lamp that hung in the living room of my parents’ house during my 70’s childhood, and will hang that in my den as well!

We have recently purchased a completely original Cape Cod style house with a blonde birch paneled den and kitchen, and the lamp would be beautiful as an ambient light in this room! We’ve managed to fill the rest of the house with a mixture of furniture that compliments the spaces, but this room we’re tying to decorate with appropriate-aged decor that reminds you of the age and character of the house. I had a black, purple and pink LavaLite when I was a teenager, and loved the quality of the light in my bedroom. I think this LavaLite would be an awesome addition to the paneling and decor of our den.

I will put the lamp on a side table in the living room that I have no idea what to do with

Hi Pam,
Though I was in my teen’s in the 70’s, I never had a lava lamp. If I had one now I would put it on the desk in my den.
Amina says
This one would go right next to my fireplace, and would be the centerpiece of all my mid-century parties!

My reasons for wanting to win this LavaLite? I was born too late to enjoy owning one of these when they first came out. Over time, I have heard many folks happily reminiscing about how much they enjoyed watching their lavalite in action (usually while listening to music from 8-track tapes played over a quadrophonic stereo). As far as I’m concerned, it’s never too late to be psychedelicized! I’ll just have to settle with listening to vintage records played over my reproduction turntable while watching the lavalite in action.
