Contest now completed: Congratulations to Mary, winner of the Lava Lamp! Thanks, everyone, for playing!

It was fun to write about the 50 year history of Lava Lamps (and see those 20+ vintage designs). Now to follow up: A giveaway courtesy of Lava Lite LLC. One lucky winner will receive a 16.3″ special 50th Anniversary edition of the Lava Lamp — in an cool yellow, purple and gold color combination.

How to enter to win a 50th Anniversary 16.3″ Lava Lamp:

  1. To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends.)
  2. To enter, keep scrolling to the Comment field below and tell us where you would use your Lava Lamp. Or a Lava Lamp memory. Or whatever, we’re easy.
  3. One entry per person. Lower 48 U.S. delivery addresses only.
  4. Entries close on Thursday, Oct. 29, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, we will close the Comments field at that time.
  5. Prize: One winner will receive one 16.3″ 50th Anniversary yellow wax/purple liquid/gold cap & base Lava Lamp sent directly from Lava Lite LLC.
  6. Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. We will email the winner. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If we do not hear from you, we will choose the next person who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. We will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
  7. Terms of use apply.

Many thanks, Lava Lite LLC!

Note: Lava Lite LLC did not pay us to host this giveaway —
we do giveaways to delight readers and to grow our newsletter list.

Congratulations to Vanessa, winner of our last giveaway — the vintage NOS Hall-Mack Conceal-A-Roll.

What a lovely lamp! If I were to win, I’d probably park it on top of my 1957 Fisher hi-fi, and move that lava lamp elsewhere.

Far out! At the tender age of 63, I’m in my first ever solo apartment. Cherry-picked my former house of my fave original ’60s&’70s furniture/decor. Lava lamp light would be peaceful & soothing in my reading nook. I’m so grateful…and feelin’ groovy

I’d put it in my Tiki Room in our mid-century mod home in Phoenix along with a couple of other lava lamps and my Tiki mugs!
