Contest now completed: Congratulations to Mary, winner of the Lava Lamp! Thanks, everyone, for playing!

It was fun to write about the 50 year history of Lava Lamps (and see those 20+ vintage designs). Now to follow up: A giveaway courtesy of Lava Lite LLC. One lucky winner will receive a 16.3″ special 50th Anniversary edition of the Lava Lamp — in an cool yellow, purple and gold color combination.

How to enter to win a 50th Anniversary 16.3″ Lava Lamp:

  1. To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends.)
  2. To enter, keep scrolling to the Comment field below and tell us where you would use your Lava Lamp. Or a Lava Lamp memory. Or whatever, we’re easy.
  3. One entry per person. Lower 48 U.S. delivery addresses only.
  4. Entries close on Thursday, Oct. 29, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, we will close the Comments field at that time.
  5. Prize: One winner will receive one 16.3″ 50th Anniversary yellow wax/purple liquid/gold cap & base Lava Lamp sent directly from Lava Lite LLC.
  6. Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. We will email the winner. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If we do not hear from you, we will choose the next person who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. We will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
  7. Terms of use apply.

Many thanks, Lava Lite LLC!

Note: Lava Lite LLC did not pay us to host this giveaway —
we do giveaways to delight readers and to grow our newsletter list.

Congratulations to Vanessa, winner of our last giveaway — the vintage NOS Hall-Mack Conceal-A-Roll.

Have a 1951 adobe brick time capsule of a home…it would be a perfect addition plus, it would bring back such wonderful memories!

A Lava Lamp would be the perfect addition to the original bar/party room in our 1955 brick ranch.

I have always wanted a lava lamp, but have never had one of my own!
If I won, this one would head up to the bedroom of my loft to add some swank since the downstairs is 70s gothic revival!
I live above a biker bar in an old wheat warehouse in a one horse town and I think that it would go perfectly!

It will go into the home Tiki Bar of my dreams. Currently only in my head, but soon… someday.

I love lava lamps! I would put it on top of the entertainment center to add a nice glow to the living room while curling up with a good book on my vintage Lazy Boy floral pull out sofa I bought for $60 at an estate sale!

This lava lamp has a spot waiting for it on my mantle… right next to the TV lamp!

My cat broke my vintage lava lamp two years ago and I am still not over it. I had gotten it at a yard sale for $5 from the original owner.

I’d use it as a night light 🙂

I have always liked the time period of the Lava lamp, and I have several on display and in use , in my Ranch Rambler. This model would be an excellent addition to my mid-century collections.
