UPDATE: Contest closed. We spinned (spun?) the random and have a winner: Congrats to Lisa, whose number came up and who promptly claimed our prize. Come back every other Friday for our next giveaway!
Howdy, hudee — it’s our first giveaway of the new year. Yesterday we wrote about how gobsmacked Pam was, when she saw the Ikea PS 2014 pendant lamp for the first time in person. Today — you can enter to win one of these lights, provided by Ikea.
How to enter to win an Ikea PS 2014 pendant light:
- To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends, or continue on for the stories and because our goal is to schedule a giveaway every two weeks.)
- To enter, use the Comment field on this post below and tell us where you might hang this light. Or whatever, we’re easy.
- One entry per person. U.S. lower 48 states only.
- Entries close on Friday, Jan. 22, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, we will close the Comments field at that time.
- Prize: There will be one winner. The winner will receive the light in the color of their choice directly from Ikea.
- Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. We will email each person. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If we do not hear from them, we will choose the next person who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. We will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed.
- Terms of use apply.
Many thanks to Ikea for providing the light for this giveaway!
And congrats to Richard, winners of our last giveaway, a vintage Christmas ornament wreath from Georgia Peachez.

I’d like the aqua version – and I’m redoing the guest room and it would look great in there!

A perky lil Death Star for those Mad Men Star Wars fetishists. Next…I need a bowcaster.

When beauty and function collide, I swoon. Love this fixture!

This light would be a great addition to our dining room. It’s definitely not retro but it’s very fun and creative and I know my daughter would love to stare at this fun ball of fire light. It’d be fun to plan a room around it too, adding accents of oranges and complementary blue greens and blue violets. I love IKEA since my budget doesn’t allow for much truly authentic retro items but their modern style blends nicely with our random, eclectic, vintage inspired furnishings.

What a gorgeous, vintage inspired light fixture! It’s like a George Nelson lamp for the 21st Century!
