Hello chaos, my old friend

Pam Kueber - January 25, 2018, Updated: August 18, 2021

My wallpaperer came up for air. So we are working together to finish wallpapering (grassclothing) the ceiling of the Mahalo Lounge. Oh, and there are a bunch of men with heavy machinery here today taking down all the trees in the back forty. And, I made a four-hour round-trip Monday to buy a 1986 Kitchenaid dishwasher. Which is still in the back of my Escape.

When will I come up for air? Wish me luck!

This is a link from Amy’s story

Pam’s little PS is under the pic of Amy in pink
I thought Pam either commented or it was a part of a story recently that mentioned painting the dishwasher…

Hubby and I have a saying that’s now become comical in our current life (things are a real pain with 2 houses that constantly need a little something ) when things get such a mess. We laugh and keep saying , ” it’ll be great when it’s done”.
It’s comical to us because it seems nothing ever gets done ALL the way before something more urgent pops up and takes priority.
So, Pam…the lounge will be great when it’s done. 🙂

Chin up (literally). Wallpapering a ceiling is something of which to be very proud, sounds extremely challenging. You know we are all dying to see it.

Kudos to you Pam for your stamina! Would be nice if you could rent it just once as a movie set for a particular scene and recoup your costs. Great taste! Enjoy following this.

    Pamela,
    You were born to multi-task!
And, you seem to do it so…naturally!
And, if we had more hours in the day, you would be first in line to use them.
Along with help today, the wallpaper will get finished with a lot of fun, laughing and joking around.
    Good luck!
p.s. I can hear the bathtub water running tonight adding some bubbles, candles and a little somn-somn to take the nip out of the air.
Don’t forget to massage the shoulders, neck and head areas. By tomorrow morning, you should feel pretty good to go another round of wallpapering.

It all looks great Pam (even the chaos – lol -I feel right at home). I thought for a minute the table with the glass on top was a bathtub! I guess you’re in the home stretch now….happy papering

Please, please, please, Pam, bottle some of your energy and send it to me!

The lounge is looking really nice – even with the drape-cloth!! Keep going the end is near!

Gawd! What a mess! Even Astro is avoiding this area.
Any time there’s a project that should take an “estimated 6 months” to do should factor in another few months to be on the safe side. That way, if it DOES come in near-ish 6, you’re “ahead” of schedule. When this is complete, you’ll have to show before&after, then re-visit previous blogs to explain this n’ that (I forgot what the bamboo pieces (real?) are at the bar, sorry!)
Sup with the trees? Plans for them once they’re down?
The dishwasher is weight for traction (wink, wink).

The Kitchen Aid Dishwasher has piqued my interest. My mother took months to pick out a new dishwasher to replace her 1980 something kitchen aid which died after much use. Her racks were peeled and rusted and she lamented losing that old appliance.
My parents are now car shopping. Same problems, different model.

Any time the dishwasher is still running but the racks are in bad shape, there exist (1) a re-coating material to paint your little tines white again and (2) appliance supply places that may have replacement parts for your dishwasher. I have used #1 on a dishwasher and I have found new parts for an old refrigerator in a #2.

great advice for future reference. In this case, the dishwasher was not working and after disassembling the parts all over the floor to find the problems, there were too many to justify repair!

Seems like multi-tasking to the max which you seem to excel at. The conclusion of finishing your ceiling will get you over a large hurdle and the lounge will be in the home stretch (yes it will). You certainly couldn’t pass on the dishwasher, not knowing when another one would turn up. Keep plugging away!
