Wilsonart Apricot Daisy laminate makes a peachy keen countertop for Sheree’s 1952 bathroom

Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

Hi Pam,

I wondered if you might like to see the new laminate counter top in my 1952 tiled bath. I used Wilsonart Daisy in Apricot Glow from their retro collection. I also got a new white oval sink with Hudee ring since the original tiled in sink could not be re-used. I found everything through your wonderful site!

Perfect! Fantabulous! So happy! I ask Sherree where she got the other products. She quickly replied:

Hi again Pam,

It is a Bootz brand sink that we special ordered through our local Menards home improvement store. I found it on Retro Renovation. I looked around online and found the best deal was getting it through Menards. [Pam notes, see all my stories on Bootz products here.]

I got the Hudee ring on Amazon. [Readers, you can get these direct from the maker Vance Industries in all kinds of sizes.]

I special ordered the laminate through Home Depot. We had a local contractor build and install the counter top.

Thanks!

What a happy space! Nicely done!

I am old enough to remember the daisies in the 70’s. This looks great. I loved the look then and this makes me smile now. Great job!

What a cheerful bathroom. There’s a lot to love here. All the details are well thought out. The tile co-ordinates perfectly with the cheery laminate. I love the accessories as well-especially the cute green top-hatted chalkware fish on the wall. Great post, thanks!

Looks so right with your tile. Makes me smile. What did the contractor say about the retro look?
Menard’s is a regional (WI, MN, etc.) store. Can’t really say it’s building supplies because Mr. Menard finds deals that he offers to customers and beyond what a contractor would pick up as an impulse. It’s an experience, that’s for sure.
Menard’s is such an icon that we all missed “The Menard’s Guy” when he retired. He got to enjoy a few years of retirement but passed away earlier this year.
“You save big money, save big money, when you shop Menard’s”
There’s some of you’s earworm for today
The rest it’s “Hello World, here’s a song that we’re singin”!”

Love it, Sherree! I have the samples of all the colors of Wilsonart Daisy staring at me on my desk right now. Great to see it in use and inspires me. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like you may have a little Shag or Nate Reed going on in there 😉

Looks beautiful! It is indeed a very happy bathroom. Do I spy a retro theme Las Vegas shower curtain?
