Hi Kathryn, these are vintage and come up occasionally, buy rarely. I’d suggest keeping an eye on ebay, craigslist and facebook marketplace….

I bought a house 5 years ago in an age where there was 10-15 ft of flood water from hurricane katrina. Built in 1954. I have recently decided to change flooring and found under all the floors througout the house is terrazzo flooring in great shape but had glue spattered on them from the bad way the house was put back together . How would you get blue off then polish floors ? Thanks

Hi Luigi, I am not an expert on this question — on questions like these I refer readers to find their own properly licensed professionals to assess what you are dealing with and help you figure out an answer. Good luck.

    Hi,
I am the Main Street Director from Cherokee Oklahoma, and looking for aqua ceramic tile that has diagonal grooves on half of the 2×2 tile. Any suggestions of where to find it? It is aqua. I could send a picture but I am not sure where to send.

Hi Schaunesse, that’s a rare sounding tile. The only one I could recollect that had that sort of appearance is here http://www.auc-tile.com/catalog/brittany_misty4.html but I think it’s 4×4.

Here’s the master list of places to look https://retrorenovation.com/2019/01/22/12-places-to-find-4-x-4-ceramic-bathroom-tile-in-vintage-colors/

If you are doing an online search you might try the term dimensional tile as you look… also, if it’s possible to salvage one piece, flip it over, and see who made it (if you are lucky, there may be a mark) that would certainly help too.

      Good luck.

    Hi Pam
I seem to recall seeing on your site stainless steel trim -with sort of a “cove” shape that finishes off where a formica countertop meets its backsplash. For the life of me, I can’t seem to find it now. I believe the same outfit does SS trim for counter edges as well.
    muchas gracias,
    rob

New York Metals does the stainless steel. See this page including the links inside it >> https://retrorenovation.com/countertop-edges-metal-steel-aluminum-midcentury-vintage-retro-kitchen/

Hi….Do you know of anyone in Canada selling retractable pendant lights i.e. Moe Lights? I am redoing my kitchen in vintage 50’s and 60’s style, and my ideas hinge on having a retractable pendant light over the 60’s style kitchenette style table.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have been told that these are no longer to code, hence, they are not made any more. That said: Consult with your own professional to assess.

Looking for antique 4×4 White Ceramic Glazed bathroom floor tile.
Installed in the ’80’s, one broken tile now and used up all of private
stock of left overs back then. Any help would appreciated. Could
send a sample that I glued back for now that has been broken. Would
like to replace and maybe buy some extra if found.

    Thanks,Dave

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME! We have lived in our home for 18 years and I just broke one of the vintage glass sliding tub doors. They are etched with a tropical bird design(Crane and flowers) I am beyond heartbroken and ‘sick’. How can I get it fixed/replaced?

There are proxies new, but if you want vintage, you’ll need to hunt down vintage; be aware of issues related to glass safety – consult with a pro. All our shower door stories are nested in our Bathroom Help/Shower Bases subcategory here: https://retrorenovation.com/category/bathroom-categories/showers-base/

I am looking for a diecast louver for a MOE LIGHT recessed light model number M-5661. The louver number is M-5662. It is about 3-1/2″ diameter with 3 support nubs to keep the louver in the fixture. For reference, the fixture is on page 75 in the 1963 MOE LIGHT CATALOG.

Hi Darcy, I am not sure if these are still made new, otherwise, you are now on a hunt for vintage…. ebay?

I am helping a senior client fix up his apartment and get it ready for sale. I have replaced the appliances with nice used one, but he has an old cooktop, yellow that is built in to the cabinet and would be too costly to replace. I would like to get it re-porcelainized. Do you know anyone who does that in South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami area? I could not find anyone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Sharon, no, I don’t know of anyone except for the company we have written about here: https://retrorenovation.com/2015/04/28/reporcelain-refinish-steel-sinks/

    Hi, Pam!

Do you happen to know of a decent source for any cut-offs of solid Westinghouse Micarta? Even small fragments would work for my project. Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated!
