Yes. This one broke too. Long story. New link posted above! All entries so far count.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

My favorite thing about the winter holidays is the beautiful colored
    lights inside and out!

This year, I will love making new warm memories with our 3 little kids at Christmas. Putting the super tall tree up in our vaulted ceiling MCM ranch living room, and decorating it with decades of glistening ornaments. My husband will be perched on the top of the ladder to secure the angel, and I will be praying below for the angel to protect him from falling! We will remember all the angels we lost last December, and pray for hope, peace, and more kindness in the new year.

We are happy new home owners in a little mid-century house in Portland, Oregon trying to restore our home to it’s 1950’s glory. I love decorating for Christmas with our 3 daughters, and passing along family traditions to them.

I’m always inspired and charmed by the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas, when we gather at homes and offices of friends and family, the smell of pine and fir fill the air, the sweet sound of muzak while we’re out shopping, and that delicious home-y embrace of cookies baking as you walk into someone’s home.. it all makes one feel good, and what can be sweeter than to good cheer it brings to all ?

My favorite part of the holidays are all of the memories of Thanksgivings and Christmases with people no longer with us. Looking at old holiday photos, talking about memories with family.

My favorite part of the holidays is decorating the tree with the ornaments that my grandma made for me when I was a kid.

To many, Christmas time is all about family. To me, Christmas time is about me and about my mom.

Me, because my birthday is December 23rd and ever since I was a kid all of the Christmas “stuff” was part of MY birthday. All the celebration, the joy and happiness, the decorations. It’s all MINE!

But the best part of Christmas is the memories I have of decorating with my Mom. It was our thing to do together (my Dad and siblings left it to us!). We had these two enormous crates we’d pull out and sort EVERY year! We’d set up the tree, the Nativity scene and Christmas bomb the entire house! After my divorce in 2009 from a man to whom Christmas was a stressful, bothersome waste of time, I rediscovered to the joy and happiness I’d missed since my last Christmas at home with my Mom and Dad. I shocked myself when I found true joy that first Christmas alone – joy at being able to experience all there was without the pull to the negative I’d lived with for years. I was decorating ALONE and having the time of my life!

I still Christmas bomb my whole apartment. And I still pull everything out and sort it just like Mom and I used to do. Every decoration is hung with her on my mind and in my heart.

Love ShinyBrites (and, the aged not so shiny brites)…and, love GP’s wreaths. My favorite part of the holidays is finding the right tree and then decorating it with my family. I always craft some decorations each year so it is fun to see those. We usually have the Charlie Brown’s Christmas DVD playing & other favorite Christmas movies.

Christmas has always been a special time. I am 69 now and over the years the momentum has built up like a musical crescendo. but this year will be an extra special time. we’ve had illness in the family and with the help of the Lord and the Christmas spirit we will rise to the occasion. my husband and i have collected over the course of a 43 year marriage a silver ornament every year. I love festive decorations – the smell of Christmas – the joy of see a wreath on the door – candy and baking and finally Santa. Having a granddaughter has brought such joy. And i love the wreath as it represents a gentler time and so many wonderful memories.
