Yes. This one broke too. Long story. New link posted above! All entries so far count.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

I love this blog, and I love Christmas! One of my favorite parts, of course, is decorating! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Decorating! Everything from driving around to look at lights to putting ornaments on the tree. I love seeing ornaments that I’ve collected and remembering stories that go along with ones passed down from family. Sometimes we even make decorations together 🙂

i run a vintage store with my mom, so one of my favorite parts of the holiday season is getting to put out all of the amazing vintage christmas decorations that we’ve collected throughout the year for the shop. i get so excited seeing other people appreciate these things as much as i do.

The knee-hugger elf takes me back to the Christmases of my childhood (I was born in the mid 60’s). My now late brother and I each had one, his green, mine red. My parents always kept Christmas simple, so that the message of holiday was not lost in the consumerism of it all. It almost sounds pat and cliche to write that, but the continued ritual of decorating the tree with my own family remains the most significant part of the holiday to me. I can and would leave all the gifts behind, along with holiday parties, and the whole big meal event. Give me a quiet night, unpacking the ornament boxes, reliving the origin and source of each ornament over the years, and watching my children’s delight as they are reminded of Christmas past. And of course, there is Christmas present. Each year, I give a new ornament, sometimes old, sometimes new. One year, I scoured the internet for Vintage orange ornaments for my brother’s monochromatic tree. The topper was the beautiful glass orange topper! The vintage oranament wreaths are beautiful. Please keep creating and sharing with us every holiday season. Thanks.

I can’t pick my favorite part of Christmas – the music, the movies, the decorations, time with family – I love it all!

My favorite thing about the holidays is making candy and handing it to my neighbors.

Since my very first Christmas at the age of 10 (I was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness for the first 9 years of my life), I have been drawn to and obsessed with all things shiny. As an adult, I have become enamored with midcentury Christmas in particular because it seems like Christmas in that period was filled with the glitz and glitter that I love as well as warm family moments.

My favorite thing about Christmas is catching up with friends and family. There is nothing more enjoyable than a relaxed afternoon with the ones you love!
