Thanks to a tip from reader Nancy, we discovered that the company that makes Pyrex — which recently celebrated their 100th anniversary with a special collection — has released yet another vintage revival collection. Vintage Charm™ Inspired by Pyrex® — is a new brand and features sets of three decorative, nesting prep and serving bowls — each inspired by the Popular Patterns of Pyrex® Opal Glass from the 50’s and 60’s. Super cute!
Note these aren’t for use in ovens. The company news release says: “All bowls are dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe for ease and convenience while entertaining” — and the company confirmed via email:
“To confirm, these bowls are microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe but should not be used in the oven.”

WORLD KITCHEN UNVEILS NEW VINTAGE CHARM™ BRAND
Inspired by the Popular Patterns of Pyrex® Opal Glass from the 50’s and 60’sROSEMONT, Ill. – October 14, 2015 – World Kitchen, the company behind iconic housewares brands such as Pyrex®, Corningware®, Corelle®, Snapware®, Bakers Secret® and Chicago Cutlery®, is introducing a new line of vintage-inspired prep and serve bowls called Vintage Charm™ Inspired by Pyrex®.
Taking a cue from the beloved designs of the classic Pyrex “opal glass” bowls from the 50’s and 60’s, the Vintage Charm brand puts a modern twist on the popular patterns that evoke feelings of nostalgia. These vintage-inspired pieces come in six patterns including: Birds of a Feather, Spot On, Rise & Shine, Golden Days, Memory Lane and Tickled Pink – trendsetters can add a little flair to their home décor to achieve a retro-style entertaining experience.

I collect vintage Pyrex, over 500 pieces. I did purchase these but will only use them for cold salad due to the quality of them. My Target store did not have the smallest bowl so am looking for them sold separately.

I just bought the “Tickled Pink” pattern because I thought it was really fun. However, if you are comparing it to actual vintage Pyrex there are a couple of huge differences. First of these are much thinner than vintage Pyrex mixing bowls. The white glass is more opaque than the original milk glass. The biggest difference, that almost made me not purchase them is the quality of the graphics. They are more of a decal rather than screen printed on, like the originals. For the patterns with a solid colored background, you can clearly see the seam where the design overlaps, as it is wrapped around. The graphics are not as sharp as the originals either. I took a good look at all of them and some designs were worst than others. The dots pattern looked pretty good, but the black and white pattern was fuzzy and the black not pure black. The colors overall are not as bright as they look in photos. The printing is a bit matte, rather than shiny and in my opinion, doesn’t look like it would hold up too a ton of wear and tear.
Overall, I decided to get them, anyway because I think they will look nice on the shelf with the rest of my Pyrex collection, but if you are thinking you are getting something close to vintage Pyrex, think again.

Agree completely. I ordered them from Amazon and was disappointed when they arrived. They’ll do, for now… but certainly aren’t going to last like old-school Pyrex, and I might have thought twice about the cost if the Amazon listing were clearer that it’s not the true Pyrex brand.

I like these. They make me feel happy. I once had the complete set of coneflower, not because I particularly liked the design, but because it was the most-iconic design of the day.

I was just at the grocery store. I bought the Dots storage bowls. They were on sale. Those say Made in the USA.

I am wondering about the shape. If the inside mimics the outside, I don’t think these would work very well as mixing bowls. But, they are so pretty!
