Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021; these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Update: 12/7 — Congratulations to Heather, winner of the wreath. Her number came up! Thanks, all, for playing! ENTRIES NOW CLOSED.

It’s time for our most awaited giveaway of the year — a chance to win one of Georgia Peachez’ gorgeous vintage Christmas ornament wreaths — complete with vintage kneehugger elf made to order just for me — to give away to one of you! As far as I know, Georgia Peachez was the pioneer of the vintage ornament wreath, and has honed her craft to perfection. There’s nothing quite like an original GeorgiaPeachez creation! Read on for the rules to enter — and note, you can enter here daily now through Monday, Dec. 4.

As far as I know, Georgia Peachez aka Suzy was the first one to make and sell these wreaths starting about 10 years ago. She started a phenom! In the last few years, Suzy has also started creating non-wreath vintage goodies, such as arrangements made in vintage vessels like head vases, retro toys and Christmas ceramics, as well as dioramas made using the vintage ornament boxes. You can see a lot of her adorable creations on GeorgiaPeachez’s Facebook page and in her online shop. Bottom line, we just adore this artist and all she does!

How to enter to win this vintage ornament wreath made by GeorgiaPeachez:

  1. To win, you must be a subscriber to our newsletter (Yes, this is “what’s in it for the blog” — you can opt out at any time after the contest ends, or continue on for the stories and other, occasional giveaways.)
  2. To enter, use the Comment field on this post below and tell us what is your favorite part of the holiday season. Or whatever, we’re easy.
  3. You can enter once per day now through Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, when entries close. (You only need to subscribe to the newsletter once, though!)
  4. U.S. lower 48 states only. (These limits are in place because shipping (and customs internationally) gets prohibitively expensive in particular considering the fragility of this product and how carefully it must be wrapped.)
  5. Repeate: Entries close on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, around 5 p.m. Eastern — that is, Iwill close the Comments field at that time.
  6. Prize: There will be one winner. The winner will receive the vintage ornament wreath pictured above, made by the GeorgiaPeachez, mailed to you by Georgia Peachez.
  7. Pam will choose the winners via the Random Number Generator at random.org. I will check if the ‘winner’ is a newsletter subscriber. I will email the winner. [Tip: Be sure you enter your email address correctly in the email field of the Comment form.] The winner will have five business days to respond. If I do not hear from them, I  will choose the next person after who commented. Lather, rinse, repeat. I will post the winner’s first name as soon as all is confirmed. Note, I ‘clean up’ all the comments before choosing. That is, if someone A replies to another’s comment within the same day that someone A entered, I take out A’s comment.
  8. Terms of use apply.

Many thanks to the fabulous GeorgiaPeachez!

Disclosure: I purchased this wreath for this giveaway
from GeorgiaPeachez; she is covering the shipping — thanks, Suzy!.

My fave part of the holidays is baking tons of cookies, pies & goodies! My family loves them! The wreath is gorgeous!

I am a child of the 50’s and remember great ornaments such as the wreath being offered. Brings back happy memories.

My favorite thing is the peaceful moment after midnight mass and before Christmas Day, with tree lit and everything glowing.

I love to put up my aluminum tree with all of the midcentury ornaments and color wheel! Too fun. I also have a little ceramic Siamese kitty who sits next to the tree.

The smell of fresh cut Christmas trees and wreaths and the glow of candles from each window. My Moravian star on the front porch.

My very favorite time of the Christmas holidays is family of course but, when trimming my tree, I still only use my original old ornaments. Most are from 1970. Some from my mother, that she crocheted. These are from my husband and I 1st Christmas! I truly treasure these even with age and not fancy at all.

Perry Como singing while I put out my vintage Lefton and Napco figurines. When I was a girl, my Mom had a precious few of these, gifts from my Grandmom in the 50’s. Being one of four daughters, we were each allowed to put out one or two. We handled them so gingerly with out little hands…the broken ones had been glued back together by Grandpop. My daughters put them out when they were little girls… Now I am a Grandmom. Each time I look at the figurines, I think of my Grandparents, long gone but not forgotten, full of gratitude for all of the traditions they started, which will continue in the generations to come. Happy Holiday Pam and Kate
