In our recent uploader, readers submitted 331 amazing photos of vintage wall clocks. This was a great one! We received tons of gorgeous starburst clocks, cheery retro kitchen clocks, and many highly unusual varieties — some of which Pam and I had never seen before. This round up was really tough, because there were so many beauties. Above, an Arabesque starburst clock from a mystery reader. Its small face and large, exaggerated star points make it not only a timepiece, but also a showpiece.

Long clocks
These next clocks defy the tradition that a clock should be something that resembles a circle or square. These long and lean lovelies give us so much more than the time — something wonderful to look at that will still let you know you are running late. The awesome tree clock above from reader Dawn has that whole tree of life/four seasons thing going on in a very simplistic and pleasing sort of way.

Wendy says
Hi, I’m interested in the star rust clock- my treasured attic. Does it run and what is the price? Do you ship? Thanks!
pam kueber says
Hi Wendy, I don’t sell anything here…
Susan Crockett says
I am interested in the NuTone clock doorbell 176 of 332. It is red & silver. Could I please get the dimensions & price,
Pam Kueber says
Hi Susan, these are all vintage clocks in readers’ homes. To find them today, I think you have to hunt vintage — on ebay, etsy, and the like.
Grant deBruin says
My grandfather Harry Laylon was Senior Vice President & Director of Design at Syroco from 1949 to his retirement in 1976. He designed more or less all of their items that took them to the forefront of decorative design throughout the 50s, 60s & 70s.
Pam Kueber says
Wow!
Brandi says
Hi!
I’m looking for a price value on the teardrop retro mod clock. I have one identical! Does anyone know the value?
pam kueber says
Brandi, we do not do valuations here. One tip: Go to ebay, find similar clocks, but go to Sold Searches to see what they actually sold for. Good luck.
Kristy says
I love that #1 clock- do you know who made it? I’ve been trying to find one but it’s hard without knowing the maker!
Let me know if you can!
pam kueber says
hmmm, I do not know – I tend to think that one is plastic with a metallic gold coating. Suggestion: Put in multiple Saved Searches on ebay, I bet one will come up. Some word suggestions:
Starburst wall clock vintage
Midcentury wall clock vintage
Midcentury wall clock vintage gold
Atomic wall clock vintage
Good luck!

Well howdy hudee, here you go: Burwood — https://www.etsy.com/listing/224464869/vintage-starburst-wall-clock-verichron?ref=sr_gallery_5&ga_search_query=starburst+clock&ga_vintage_rewrite=vintage+starburst+clock&ga_original_query=2&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=vintage&ga_view_type=gallery
Note, I tend to this this is a seller who does not sell cheap. You may be able to wait out a better price spotted on ebay or even etsy — but this puppy is pretty gorgeous, you might be waiting forever.
NOTE: I AM NOT AN EXPERT in these things!
Kristy says
I thought that too – one of those plastic types – Burwood or Syroco. I actually finally found one last night on etsy – not the same clock face but otherwise the same. Unfortunately they want $500 for it and that’s a bit too rich for my blood! The search goes on!
pam kueber says
yes, did you see what i just posted?
Kristy says
Yes, I think I was replying at the same time you were posting the etsy listing! That’s the same one. Comes out to $500 dollars with the shipping. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
Lindsey says
Hi,
Is there anywhere I can find the Evans starburst wall clock to purchase? Guessing not since it’s retro but I just love it!
Thanks,
Lindsey
pam kueber says
I don’t know, Lindsey… for these, you need to stalk ebay, etsy, estate sales and vintage shops…
jennifer houston says
I really want to buy the Sunbeam grasscloth clock, any idea how I can make that happen?
pam kueber says
Hunt for vintage… that’s all I can suggest….
MiddleClassic says
I have one for sale on eBay right now. Except the grasscloth on the one pictured is not original. There used to be a faux woodgrain sticker in its place. And like the one I have for sale right now, it more than likely dried up and started to peel and flake off. So I replaced the sticker with a thin cork sheet which looks pretty fab if you ask me. I hope me plugging my auction is OK here. Sorry if not, my bad if it is. It’s has been a couple years since your post so you may have found your dream clock by now. If not, here’s a link to the clock on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282119259243
And sorry, it isn’t cheap. They tend to sell in that area whenever they do come up on eBay, so I don’t think I can be blamed much for pricing it as such. Plus it is in excellent condition so …. good luck!

Oops, meant to say “Can’t be blamed”. Oh well, you be the judge 🙂

There are some really nice clocks here. My favorite is the black & white cat. I’d love to have one of those! I have a doorbell/clock in my kitchen/dining area.
