shiny-brite-holiday-wreathe-georgia-peachezUpdate: Congrats to  winner Danielle! I went thru the entries, pruned duplicates, spun the random.org random number generator, found a winner, and she emailed me back tout suit. Thanks, everyone, for your lovely comments — and come back soon for more contests and retro fun!

So, I have been in the “let’s do some giveaways” mood. And I was thinking, yes, the holidays are not too far away. And, golly, everyone always goes crazy over Georgia Peachez’ (aka Suzy’s) Shiny Brite wreathes. So I asked Suzy to make one up for me (shown above)… I bought it from her… and it’s sitting on her dining room table itching to go to its new home. YUP: One week contest now “live” to Win this Wreath. Click on through for the rules and to enter ->

How to make a wreath using vintage Christmas tree ornaments — Suzy’s instructions

I bet we’ll get a lot of entries for this one — and there can only be one winner. So, the idea behind posting this giveaway right now is to remind you creative types to think ahead … make sure you’re collecting a whole bunch of vintage ornies … and gear up to make one of these yourself maybe. I know that in a lot of thrift stores across America, they start pulling out all the vintage ornaments for sale pretty soon. Or, maybe you’ve been collecting them all summer? That said, I know a lot of us *think* we’ll do a project… but never do… so keep an eye on Suzy’s blog because she keeps making wreaths all fall… she posts them for sale… and they sell out fast!

In the following super-popular story, Suzy showed us how she does it — how to make a wreath out of vintage Christmas tree ornaments:

Thank you, Suzy — you are such an inspiration!

LOVE your site- I get so many great ideas, and it just deepens my love of vintage. If I don’t win this wreath I may try to make one myself 🙂

this wreath would be the crowning holiday glory on our 1952 rancher.
My great grandparents built this house. GP’s wreath looks like it was plucked from one of the many holiday photos taken here! Love it!

Love it so much! The ornaments remind me of my grandma. I loved her so. Back in the 1950’s she was a woman way before her time!

An easy way to have a vintage Xmas feel… just fill a glass bowl with old glass ornaments for a centerpiece

I love the wreath and this website. Just remodeled our “yellow” bathroom and searched your site for suggestions.

My Mom is in an independent living facility and there are no more perfect folks to appreciate this but them. What great memories this wreath would bring!
