Update: Congrats to winner Danielle! I went thru the entries, pruned duplicates, spun the random.org random number generator, found a winner, and she emailed me back tout suit. Thanks, everyone, for your lovely comments — and come back soon for more contests and retro fun!
So, I have been in the “let’s do some giveaways” mood. And I was thinking, yes, the holidays are not too far away. And, golly, everyone always goes crazy over Georgia Peachez’ (aka Suzy’s) Shiny Brite wreathes. So I asked Suzy to make one up for me (shown above)… I bought it from her… and it’s sitting on her dining room table itching to go to its new home. How to make a wreath using vintage Christmas tree ornaments — Suzy’s instructions
I bet we’ll get a lot of entries for this one — and there can only be one winner. So, the idea behind posting this giveaway right now is to remind you creative types to think ahead … make sure you’re collecting a whole bunch of vintage ornies … and gear up to make one of these yourself maybe. I know that in a lot of thrift stores across America, they start pulling out all the vintage ornaments for sale pretty soon. Or, maybe you’ve been collecting them all summer? That said, I know a lot of us *think* we’ll do a project… but never do… so keep an eye on Suzy’s blog because she keeps making wreaths all fall… she posts them for sale… and they sell out fast!
In the following super-popular story, Suzy showed us how she does it — how to make a wreath out of vintage Christmas tree ornaments:
Thank you, Suzy — you are such an inspiration!

Lovely wreath!

I love the pinks! I bought lots of new pinks at the end of last Christmas and have found the perfect white tree for them. The wreath would be perfect hung near the tree to set them all off!! Thank you!!

This blog has really deepened my ability to “love the house I am in”……and live my life in a more mindful way. Thanks for all the love you put into it, Pam! I was so happy to see the recent newsletter and reminder to pop over here. When I finally finish my kitchen counters, I promise to send pics.

What a great idea! I always see a lot of these vintage ornaments for sale at reasonable prices, and while I may not like them enough to put them on my tree, this is a great way to use them and create a beautiful, re-usable decoration. I’m in!
