Yes. This one broke too. Long story. New link posted above! All entries so far count.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

Instructions to enter to win the Shiny Brite wreath made by Georgia Peachez:

  • STEP #1: Add a comment below and in it: Tell us, what is your favorite part of the holiday season? Or whatever. As always, this is fundamentally about spreading the love in any ole way you’re comfortable with. Please note: If you are a first-time commenter, I must “free” your comment from moderation. This may not happen quickly, especially if it’s the weekend. So hang tight.
  • STEP #2: You must be a subscriber to my weekly newsletter to win. (Yes, I am using this as a way to try to keep you addicted to the blog. Please know, though, you can unsubscribe at any time.)
  • One entry per person.
  • 48 states only. Sorry, Alaska, Hawaii and rest of world — this is quite a bulky item and expensive to ship, as it is.
  • Terms of Use apply to all participation on the blog — please read ’em.
  • I’ll run this one for one full week. So, contest ends Friday morning, Nov. 8, 10 am ish Eastern. Again: Winner gets the wreath shown.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Be sure to enter your email address correctly in the Comment form!
  • I will post the first name of the winner at the top of this post as soon as they confirm.

My favorite part of Christmas is putting on our annual party: The Mid-Century Supper Club Holiday Potluck! Guests get all gussied up and bring dishes from actual mid-century cookbooks, and it is always hilarious and so much fun. Last year we had about 100 people, and had cakes shaped like reindeer, festive (and inedible!) aspic molds, family recipe casseroles, Trader Vic’s cocktails, and even Liberace’s ham salad! And we decorate our house with our vintage decorations, including an aluminum tree and waaaaaaay too many Knee Hugger elves. I’m starting to get really excited already, and it’s still 6 weeks away! Thanks for all you do and for your inspiration!

After having spent the better part of this year packing, cleaning, moving, and furnishing and decorating our new (mcm) house, I think the part of the holidays I’m going to enjoy the most will be taking some time to relax and enjoy our home with my family and friends. I can’t wait to bake the things my mom used to bake, decorate my first ‘real’ Christmas tree, and wax nostalgic at every opportunity. C’mon, holidays, hurry up and get here!

My favorite part of the season is decorating the christmas tree! We have the gaudiest tree ever and I LOVE it! Thanks for such a great giveaway!

I love searching for vintage decor and decorating the house. It’s always an event, putting up the tree and hanging decorations.

I love getting all my Christmas stuff out. I have four different sets of ornaments and I rotate them every year. This wreath would go perfectly with my set of “Vintage” ornaments!

My favorite parts of the Christmas season are listening to my classic Christmas records (love the “Jingle Bells” with a yodeling Gene Autry) while decorating the Christmas tree and spending time with family. I have a big extended family and it is so fun to get together with all of them at Christmastime and reminisce over years past.

I love the vintage light ornaments that are in our downtown square hanging on the lightposts. I remember they have always been there, and I am 43 years old. Vintage Santas, Trees, and there is one more but I cant remember. But I will find out soon enough.

The Christmas elves really should deliver this particular wreath to me. My grandma had these exact elves and reindeer and I loved them more than any other decorations as a kid. Also, I’m excited because I finally got a real aluminium tree at a thrift shop last summer and I can’t wait to put it up. Happy Holidays, everyone!
