But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:
Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Absolutely beautiful! I tried making a wreath like this last year, but it was a disaster. Maybe this year I’ll win one! 😉 It would look fab in our circa 1956 house!

I love pulling out the decorations that have been collected or handed down to us over the years.

I love this. Love it. And if I don’t win it, I’m going to ornie-hoard and try to make one. 🙂

My favorite part of the Holiday season besides the obvious of friends and family, is decorating with all the vintage decorations that have been in the family for years!

Hmmm, I know you won’t hold me to it, because I can’t just pick one favorite thing–but I’ll give Christmas music (especially childhood favorites) a shout out!

I’ll be honest: my favorite part of Christmas is that my employer shuts down completely between Christmas and New Year’s Day, so I get nine straight days off without having to burn a single vacation hour.
My SECOND favorite thing about Christmas – and this is probably a lot closer to what you had in mind when you asked – is collecting magazines (both the December issues and the seasonal Christmas specials) and poring over them for interesting new recipes and craft ideas that I must try.

I love decorating! We already have our tree up. A beautiful silver tinsel tree. I won’t be putting ornaments on for weeks yet, I just love the sparkle.

We bought ornaments for our kids every year as they grew up. Fishing , wrestling, baseball, etc for our son. Soccer, basketball, crystal ones for our daughter. They are now adults. I am taking “their” ornaments and making them “Christmas memory wreath”. All the ornaments won’t fit, they can hang the extras on their own trees. I have never done this before b/c I always used them on my tree. Now, I have 1960’s silver tinsel tree, found in an old store, in the box, never used. Soooo, I can part with those ornaments now, and let my children have them! 🙂 My fav. part of the day is dinner at my house, with my children, their partners, and my husband. just like the old days when they were young!

This wreath takes me back to my earliest Christmas memories. In the early 60’s. We had these reindeer, elf’s & ornaments all over our decorated living room. Such sweet memories!

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love decorating my tree and house. I think a big part of that is all of the memories involved in the process.
