Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

I love this wreath as it preserves all the happy memories and you don’t have to have multiple trees to enjoy all the wonderful vintage ornaments! I can’t just think of one favorite part but I guess if I had to sum it up I would say traditions. My family drives around to look at lights on christmas eve, volunteers, reads our 5 generation book “t’was the night before christmas”, the baking, wrapping gifts while watching christmas classic movies….and just so many more and I never get tired of them. I also just love how happy it is ( I listen to christmas music starting in Aug! hahaha) Great Blog!

Spending time with my family. Before it was with my extended family as I was growing up and now that I’ve started my own family I can share my experiences with our infant son and start new memories. We are so excited!

These lovely, blitzy, blingy wreaths are spectacular! Not only are they fabulous to look at, they conjure up memories of many a Christmas past — in the mountains of Washington State….with bitter cold winters and snow…yes, that lovely snow! The shiny bulbs of this wreath remind me in particular of one very special Christmas; I can still see my mom in her pink quilted robe, tenderly placing Christmas gifts under the tree. My dad sat near the Christmas tree — on the fireplace hearth with a fire still roaring — petting the stray dog that showed up at the door on that wintery night. I can still hear my dad as he quietly expressed his concern that he didn’t think the ‘old girl would make it through the night…’ as the dog was frozen from the cold. In my mind, I glance over at the front window in the living room; Outside, the corner street light looms over the snow covered ground…the flakes are swirling and blowing as the snow falls against the dark sky. The bitter cold outside is such a contrast to the warm, comfortable house. ‘So quiet’ that’s the ‘sound’ of snow falling…..so very quiet. I glance over at the living room front window and as had been for many years, my sister’s ‘stained glass’ style painted window looks so pretty. I tip-toe back to my room and slip between the icy cold sheets — I curl up with my cat and try to sleep. As I lay there looking up in the dark, I could have sworn I heard the sound of hooves on the roof and the rustling of Santa. These memories are so vivid! Amazing! The brilliance of this beautiful wreath fills my senses with pleasant thoughts! (Happy ending: The dog survived the night and went on to live a happy, comfortable life for many years with us.)

My favorite part of the holiday season is experiencing the memories that come flooding back of Christmases past as I decorate my trees. My “family” tree is full of old family ornaments, photos, toys….anything that has a memory attached to it. Some years are a little more melancholy than others, but it always ultimately heartwarming and precious.

Love this wreath, it is gorgeous. My favorite holiday thing is making and decorating gingerbread cookies with my daughter! We have been doing it since she was a toddler and she’s now a preteen. It always gets us in the Christmas spirit.

My favorite thing about the holidays is observing the various ways certain members of the family compete about who is going to host which night, just how exactly to run the grab-bag, and whose grandchild was the best behaved. EVERY. YEAR. Actually, my favorite thing is looking forward to the night that “It’s A Wonderful Life” is on TV because that is the anniversary of a significant night for my husband and I, back before we were married – we order pizza and watch together. It’s lovely.

My favorite part of Christmas is decorating my mantel with the paper caroling figures my mom assembled while expecting me, 55 years ago. They bring back precious memories.
