I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!
Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:
Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.
Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

I love my Christmas trees and decorations so much…I often have more than one tree…there are the vintage ornament trees, the bird tree, the red and white tree, my vintage pink ornament tree (the tree is white-not vintage-but works) with vintage pink ornaments … I always have a tiny tree with tiny ornaments for my grandchildren. Just yesterday (day after Halloween!) I was scouting out ornaments that are all over all stores now. These vintage ornament wreaths are spectacular. I would love to win one, it will be right at home with my other vintage Christmas things. I am crossing my fingers I am the lucky one.

Beautiful wreath, Suzy! My favorite part of Christmas, and the 1st thing I do, is set up my mom’s aluminum Christmas tree. I can almost see her, sitting on the couch, while I put her Shiny Brite ornaments on it.

Just looking at this wreath made my heart skip a beat and took me back to my childhood and staring at my grandmama’s Christmas tree adorned with all these amazing ornaments! I loved the elves long before there was even a book about them! Ahhh…the smells and lights of Christmas!

My favorite part of Christmas is wrapping gifts. I play my favorite Christmas flicks, White Christmas and Holiday Inn, and have a cup of tea and I’m set for the duration.

Love everything about the season! Music, food, my overexcited junior high students, the weather and the boundless goodwill of so many wonderful souls. Especially hoping our USMC son will get leave and be able to celebrate with us this year.

I love pulling out the decorations each year, and thinking about all the memories associated with each one–the glass ornaments from Gramma’s tree, the wooden ones I painted as a kindergartner, the ones my son has made…
Our decor has no theme–it’s a hodgepodge–except maybe the theme of family memories.
