Yes. This one broke too. Long story. New link posted above! All entries so far count.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

Instructions to enter to win the Shiny Brite wreath made by Georgia Peachez:

  • Terms of Use apply to all participation on the blog — please read ’em.
  • I’ll run this one for one full week. So, contest ends Friday morning, Nov. 8, 10 am ish Eastern. Again: Winner gets the wreath shown.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Be sure to enter your email address correctly in the Comment form!

My favorite part of the holiday season is spending time with family. But then again, I also love Christmas music, the tree, the food…oh my, I love it all! And my favorite ornaments are vintage German blown glass balls and vintage faded knee hugger elves, both handed down from my Grandmother. This gorgeous wreath would look so wonderful with my other vintage ornaments!

Our family has become so small that I don’t do the “big Christmas” anymore. One thing I NEVER leave out though is a wreathnor small.tree with the ornaments from my childhood; the one’s that have the story and history and bring back the memories. My mom decorated a lot of plain glass balls with scraps of ribbon, and there’s the bedraggled piece of tinsel from the depression, and foil roses, one for each child. They’re all falling apart and ling in the tooth, but I have them hanging as a mobile in my living room, and I can sit and raise a glass to them, and so to my family of my memory.

I love spending time with family at Christmas. Last year was our first Christmas away while being deployed and we were really missing everyone. This year we plan to come home and surprise our families on Christmas morning! I think it will be a Christmas to remember!

    Favorite holiday traditions:
Watching It’s a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart (am I the only one with a crush on him?)
Putting up our retro, rotating silver tree…with not one…but TWO color wheels!
Making mulled wine (goes well with Jimmy’s films)
Putting up the giant bulbed 70s Christmas lights on the live tree because well it just reminds me of my childhood
And finally, making my great grandmother’s chocolate peanut butter balls. I always have grand plans of giving them away in tins as gifts but they don’t last long very long in my house.

Beautiful wreath! My favorite part of the holidays is getting my whole family together on Christmas eve. My 2nd favorite part is decorating 🙂

I love the first moment that my small children wake up on Christmas morning. Seeing the joy and wonderment on their faces. Best moment of the day for me.

By far, the best part of the holiday season is the time I get to share with family and friends. We live on a block in the city where 8 different families gather to celebrate together, and make wonderful memories. I can hardly wait for the holiday season every year!
