Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

My favorite memories of Christmas time occurred when I was young and a member of the Busy Butterflies 4-H group. Every year we would make gifts to give to the local disabled and shut-ins. One year the 4-H leader’s husband cut out lap boards and we decoupaged the tops with magazine pictures. When we delivered the lapboards we sang carols. The recipients of our gifts included US Veterans, amputees, and Cerebral Palsy children. I still remember their faces turn to sunshine and wide smiles, and the true love and appreciation radiated back to us from these individuals. Pure joy !

My favorite part of Christmas is the ornaments for the tree. I so enjoy the memories each of the ornaments I have brings me; like when I got it and why, who made it (if home made) and why it is so special to me.

As a vintage loving Australian now living in Tennessee – I have to say my (new) favourite thing is the SNOW! I am used to a heat wave at Christmas, and experiencing the cold and especially the snow, makes the entire experience so very authentic. Most vintage Christmas carols I grew up with don’t mention the beach, sand or surf! <3

Every year, my grandma made our family a box full of cookies and breads and bars and brittle. Now that my grandma has passed away, I love making old school cookies in her memory, like Mexican wedding cookies, salted peanut cookies, and Boston brown bread.

Such a lovely wreath, the elf is so cute. I grew up in a small town on Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Penninsula. We didn’t have much shopping locally so mom had to order from catalogs. It was so exciting to come home from school and see all these packages hanging on the mailbox. They would disappear into my parents bedroom for wrapping later. We would go to Midnight Mass and eat when we got home. We were allowed to open one gift picked out by my Mom that just happeded to be pajamas, usually new Lantz nightgowns. I love the mememories, beautiful lights & decorations and the music. Thanks for your fabulous blog.

The favorite part of the holidays for me, gosh I have many – the music, the decorating and making gifts. Of course a biggie is the anticipation. I have been crafting since I was a kid, my first memory of crafting was seeing an under tree village in the Sears catalog and making my own.
Your website is my number one all time favorite, so glad I found you over a year ago and discovered my mid-century psyche!

I luv, luv your wreaths made from these beautiful vintage ornaments. I remember those ornaments, and I have quite a few…we love to go to flea markets and yard sales and find all the beautiful treasures…Praying that I’m a winner. You are so amazingly talented.

My favorite part of the season beyond having special time with family and friends (and straining my imagination to come up with special gifts!) is being able to take out those special holiday items that evoke so many great memories of holidays past along with new traditions (like my PomPom tree!). Even though a lot of those memories can be nittersweet, I would change a moment.
