ENTRIES NOW CLOSED. Update: Congratulations to Lynne, winner of this year’s Georgia Peachez wreath. It turns out, we’ve featured Lynne and her knotty-pine + pink bathroom in this story!  Thanks, everyone, for playing — we’ll do it again next year! P.S. My friend Danielle and I made our own wreaths last night — they turned out FABULOUS! Story to come.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

I love the excitement! There’s just always something to look forward to, from Oct-Dec. Then we have to “get through” Jan, Feb, and March 🙂 It’s such a cheerful time of year!!

The best part of Christmas remains what it has always been: the anticipation. The food. The hugs. The decorations. The presents. The candlelight. The music. The red kettles … the list is long. In every case, the anticipation is the best part.

My favorite part of the holidays is being with my family, enjoying the sounds, smells, and tastes of the season. Now wreath me, Pam, please! 😀

My favorite holiday event is putting up ornaments that are memories with each one.

My favorite part of Christmas is everything! But my absolute favorite thing is pulling out the decorations and decorating the tree. Most of my decorations were my mother’s. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved to decorate her tree. She died unexpectedly just 2 weeks after Christmas in 1991. When I take out her decorations and decorate my tree, it’s like a part of her is there with me.

I just found you yesterday. I love pictures of anything Vintage. That’s probably because I spent so much time with my Aunt and Grand parents. Who are no longer with us. Everything I see Vintage brings them back to me. Especially Christmas. My aunt use to decorate her whole porch in a Christmas Village, starting 1960. I still have a wreath that she made then also. When I saw yours it reminded me of my wreath. I also have the Elf on mine. She also made her ornaments by gluing glitter on them back then before you could buy them. They loved Christmas and I have carried that with me all these years. My aunt made everything by hand, even my wedding dress. The minute I saw this I had to write you. I am a fan.
