ENTRIES NOW CLOSED. Update: Congratulations to Lynne, winner of this year’s Georgia Peachez wreath. It turns out, we’ve featured Lynne and her knotty-pine + pink bathroom in this story!  Thanks, everyone, for playing — we’ll do it again next year! P.S. My friend Danielle and I made our own wreaths last night — they turned out FABULOUS! Story to come.

I know: According to authentic retro etiquette, it’s way too early to talk Christmas decorations. But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Or… if you know you are never gonna get this crafty yourself — here’s your chance to win our super famous annual giveaway: A vintage Shiny Brite ornament wreath made by the the queen of Shiny Brite crafting, the talented and generous Georgia Peachez. WOOT!

Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

My favorite part of the holidays has to be listening to xmas songs 24/7 and since I have a new little family I will be enjoying starting little traditions that we can look forward to each year…. Like the elf on shelf 🙂

My favorite part of the holidays is setting up and decorating my vintage aluminum Christmas tree!

We put our shoes by the tree on Christmas Eve. Magically, overnight, they are filled with chocolates and candy – and on Christmas morning we eat chocolate first thing while opening presents under the tree.

Favorites are all our traditions, decorating the house and the old white retro tree in the old ornaments (no new ones, just ones from 1960 and older), time with friends and family – the kids are grown so we make time to be with them. Pulling out the records and listening to the music of the season, watching old movies. Sharing baked goodies with neighbors. And then that night, as all the hubbub quiets, we enjoy our memories, and begin to look towards the new year. thanks for the chance to own a Georgipeachez original!

After the excitement of gift opening is finished and the morning has settled down, I love to start cooking dinner. Christmas Day can then be truly enjoyed with family and friends.

What I love most about the holiday season is having all of my (grown) kids at home for a few days. We bake, we decorate, we eat, we exchange gifts, we watch Christmas movies together. I love every minute of spending time with my family!

My favorite part of Christmas is the gathering of loved ones, the baking of christmas cookies, and the lighting of the tree. Georgia Peachez…love these wreaths! Great talent!

I might be 33, but that doesn’t mean my favorite part can’t still be the gifts 🙂

When I gently drape our tree with my Grandma’s vintage glass bead garland, I am overwhelmed with true Christmas spirit! So beautiful and fragile…they bring back thoughts of family, church at midnight, cookies for Santa, and getting to open that one Christmas eve gift…always pj’s! I only have a few of her vintage glass ornaments to pass on to my children, but I see so many memories in these gorgeous wreaths. They are breathtaking!

Christmas is about MID MOD ORNAMENTS! Our collection is now beautifully bloated and happily gorging itself more every year. Raise your babies to love them too and we’ll have spawned another gen of eco-savvy collectors:-)

Here I reveal my super sneaky secret – ltell everyone how much you just LOVE all those “old” ornaments that grandma’s have and VOILA! people will start donating to your cause because they only like “new”! Before you know it you’ll be making covert transfers in school parking lots and the like. Try it.

Happy Holidaze everyone! And now to go out and break the bank on LED lights….
