It turns out, we’ve featured Lynne and her knotty-pine + pink bathroom in this story!  Thanks, everyone, for playing — we’ll do it again next year! P.S. My friend Danielle and I made our own wreaths last night — they turned out FABULOUS! Story to come.

But if you are thinking about doing fabulous things with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments, you only have so many days left to ornie-hoard and hot-glue. Suzy of Georgia Peachez
Suzy aka Georgia Peachez

Every year, as a gift to readers, I buy a wreath from Suzy aka Georgia Peachez for this giveaway. Thank you, readers, for being THE BEST. I luv you! Suzy always jumps to help out. She gave me a great price (her wreaths now sell for $250! each!) — and quick as I asked, she made this special wreath just for us. She said:

Pam, I made a wreath with my two favorite elements, a knee hugger elf and a reindeer.

Heck to the yeah, knee hugger elf and reindeer! Thank you, Suzy!

My favorite part is that out of all the kids in my family, I was the only one interested in the collection of shiny brites, so they are all over my tree! I add a new box every year, and retire a few that are too worn. I am saving them for a wreath, though!

My favorite part of Christmas is probably decorating and gift wrapping. I have been know to come up with some pretty creative gift wrappings. After a trip to Egypt many years ago, I gave my niece an Ankh Necklace (key of life). I made a pyramid shaped box and wrapped the exterior with Gold Foil Wrapping paper ~ I have to admit, it was pretty cool. I also created a unique gift for my sister making a box to resemble a piece of luggage, wrapped in brown kraft paper and used hotel/destination stickers I had collected from my travels, then placed them around the luggage like a well travelled bag, completed the look by making a unique luggage tag with her name. Now, having a vacation home in Palm Springs, we are very into the Mid-Century look and absolutely love the Wreaths that Suzy creates! Very, very creative!

All of the unhealthy food and the decorating are my favorite part of the season!

My favorite part of the holiday is to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The best way I know to do this is with VINTAGE manger scenes. I love anything retro/vintage particularly from the 50s and 60s and 70s since that was during my childhood (or from items my grandparents owned). I love silver aluminum trees (have one for my office), and my 1950s manger/crèche scene that was our family’s when I was a child. My Dad made the barn out of scrap wood and I re-nail it together each year. My mom handpainted a nativity for my grandmother and now it is hers when painting ceramics was all the craze for housewives in the 60s

I looovvvve this wreath!!! Love the mid-century, and all those ornaments probably have history of Christmas’ past. I did not grow up with Christmas in my home, but now I enjoy it with my fiancé and his family. I love everything about Christmas, my favorite thing is the happiness. I have a cool fun mother in law; we bake pies together, decorate the tree, cook on Christmas. Last year we went caroling together in Jackson Square, my first. My fiancé calls me his Christmas elf, I love shopping for & wrapping gifts. I listen to Christmas music for over a month, my favorite are all the classics from the 1950-60s! I love the inner child joy, hope, cheer, food, & family closeness of it all!

I treat Christmas as my New Year too. A time of shiny bright renewal and hope.

Hanging my 1950’s Italian glass ornaments on our Charlie Brown silver tip tree every year, from clowns, to Santa, to Pinocchio.
