Howdy, hudee — it’s time for our most awaited yearly giveaway on the blog: One lucky winner will win this gorgeous vintage ornament wreath, handcrafted by the Queen o’ Ornament Wreaths, the original trendsetter, the talented Suzy a.k.a. GeorgiaPeachez herself! These wreaths sell out fast in GeorgiaPeachez’s shop, so this is your chance to get one of these coveted creations for yourself. Note: What with Pam’s trip to Pittsburgh and Thanksgiving upon us, we will be taking next week off. Happy happy, everyone — see you on the 30th.
As far as we know, Georgia Peachez was the pioneer of the vintage ornament wreath, and has honed her craft to perfection. There’s nothing quite like an original GeorgiaPeachez creation!
In the last few years, she’s even started creating non-wreath vintage goodies, such as arrangements made in vintage vessels like head vases, retro toys and Christmas ceramics, as well as dioramas made using the vintage ornament boxes. You can see a lot of her adorable creations on GeorgiaPeachez’s Facebook page. Bottom line, we just luv this lady!

Apart from Christmas morning, it’s always a highlight to open up the ornaments- like seeing old friends again 🙂

When I was a teenager, my mom was buying new ornaments for her “all gold” tree and put the “gaudy, cheap ones” that she had accrued from my sixties childhood in the trash. I slipped out and rescued the unbroken ones. I’ve used them to this day (a long time, my friends).
This darling wreath reminds me of the ones that were beyond my ability to repair, and it makes me so happy to see them again!

Mom would always make a huge batch of sugar cookies and as we kids got old enough to help we might work the cookie cutter and maybe frost and decorate. The decorating became a tradition that we always enjoyed even as we got older. Of course in our teenage years we needed black frosting and a lot of red because pentagrams and skulls and the like figured prominently. It’s always fun to turn maybe an angel sideways and it might be made to look like Jaws or something. Even as adults we love doing this and the inclusion of in-laws brought in great new talents and ideas. Now our next generation is in full swing and it’s great to see what the kids come up with.
This wreath reminds me of the countertop covered with brightly decorated cookies – it’s my favorite color!
