Howdy, hudee — it’s time for our most awaited yearly giveaway on the blog: One lucky winner will win this gorgeous vintage ornament wreath, handcrafted by the Queen o’ Ornament Wreaths, the original trendsetter, the talented Suzy a.k.a. GeorgiaPeachez herself! These wreaths sell out fast in GeorgiaPeachez’s shop, so this is your chance to get one of these coveted creations for yourself. Note: What with Pam’s trip to Pittsburgh and Thanksgiving upon us, we will be taking next week off. Happy happy, everyone — see you on the 30th.
As far as we know, Georgia Peachez was the pioneer of the vintage ornament wreath, and has honed her craft to perfection. There’s nothing quite like an original GeorgiaPeachez creation!
In the last few years, she’s even started creating non-wreath vintage goodies, such as arrangements made in vintage vessels like head vases, retro toys and Christmas ceramics, as well as dioramas made using the vintage ornament boxes. You can see a lot of her adorable creations on GeorgiaPeachez’s Facebook page. Bottom line, we just luv this lady!

I love decorating for Christmas and the midnight service on Chrismas Eve with candlelight.

My favorite parts of the holiday season are the cold weather, the decorations, the good will that you see everywhere and, well, to be frank, the cookies.

Making kuchen nut rolls to share with family and friends!

While I love ALL of the Christmas trappings: baking and decorating spritz cookies with the press; planning who brings what for Christmas dinner; decorating the tree with every ornament we can squeeze on— from bells my mom was given as a toddler to the plastic balls with scenes and Styrofoam Christmas mouse I grew up with in the 60s to my girls’ plaster handprints; hearing my mom recite the Christmas story from Luke on Christmas eve while my aunt plays carols on the piano; my most treasured memory is having my dad put on Readers’ Digest’s “The Organ Plays the Music of Christmas” and listening to “Buon Natale.” That was his favorite song and our special time. My brother got sick of hearing it, but I loved it and would sing along. Even after my dad passed away, I’d put on the record when no one else was around– a small tribute and reminder of the man I adored and the special times our family shared at Christmas. I found my own copy of the records at an estate sale and picked up an older console record player so that I could introduce my girls to this tradition as well this year.

The retro ornaments in the wreath remind me of Christmas with my mom & dad (who both passed away many years ago). Our tree always was decorated with these wonderful ornaments. Still have many of them and I cherish every every memory they bring.
Sandra Bamber says
One of my favorite Christmas memories is baking cookies to give to family and friends. I have continued that tradition and still make all of the recipes from my childhood.

My favorite part of Christmas, at least right now, is opening all the bins and pulling out all of my Santas, which I’ve missed during the year (keeping Christmas contained between the day after Thanksgiving and New Years is what makes me Not Crazy). This wreath would be such a great match for my tree!
Alice says
I love to get out all my retro ornaments and decorate my “antique tree” in the dining room. I also have lots of plastic reindeer, houses, and Santas on display. I look forward to seeing all my favorite things again each December!

I love when all my family comes and I get to cook for them.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year because I get to pull out both sets of Christmas decorations from both grandmothers 🙂 I was lucky enough to receive these beautiful ornaments & I can’t wait for Christmas every year to display them. Reminds me of my Oma & my Nanny!! Merry Christmas!!
